Aside from the facilities and our school's location, USF MBB doesn't have a lot going for it. I can believe the story of Dambrot turning us down. I'm ambivalent regarding the Brian Gregory hire, and I really hope he's successful. I'll probably be renewing my tickets next season because I think I'm basketball masochist.
I think Dambrot could have brought in good players and stabilized the program pretty quickly and I'm sure he would have enjoyed the conference upgrade and nice arena. Although he is an Ohio guy, a lot of his recruits are coming from places like Texas, Nevada and Puerto Rico so I'm sure he could recruit to Florida (probably could have gotten some good Ohio players to come too). But he is in a pretty good spot right now...he will be able to cash the paychecks at Akron as long as he wants, a little less than AAC money but enough to live on The risk would be in the chance that it didn't work out at USF - he would then be 60+ and out in the cold so I think that's the main reason he declined USF.

I believe he was only at CSU for two years though (and was fired for the racial incident).
Central Michigan goes by CMU.

Crazy times at Wisconsin with the coach bolting, getting drilled by Tosu, then coming back to beat Auburn. At least they're on an uptick for the incoming Chryst.

Ever wonder why they put BRAILLE at the drive-in teller at a bank?
1) It's easier and less expensive than manufacturing separate keys for walk-up and drive-thru ATM's. Corporations are all about lowering costs.
2) Autonomous cars are on the near-term horizon so there will actually be some blind "drivers" using them.

Well, the A-10 schools don't have FBS football so they can funnel more to hoops. Dambrot may have already had the Duquesne iron in the fire when he turned down USF and he feels strongly connected to them because his father played there many moons ago and they haven't had much success ever since. Plus less distance from family and less of a dumpster fire in freefall, although it will certainly be a project to get them to the NCAAT.
