  1. Not trying to start a firestorm, but if the Big 12 would like to expand into Florida, who's to say USF is that much better a candidate than UCF. After a couple years playing in the Big East, and especially at the rate Holtz is going UCF will be our equals.

I know its hard for us to accept but, how far ahead of them are we really? How does the Orlando TV market compare? Whats their growth potential? How do the Universities compare regarding Academics, Quality of Sports, Facilities, Alumni, etc??

As of right now and the next few years, USF is the better choice. Tampa/St. Pete is the better market, we have a stadium that from day one can accomodate 65K for the big games, and as of today, we have arguably more established football and basketball programs. Five years from now, the answer could definitely be different, but I think if they expanded this year/next year, by a slim margin USF is still the clearer choice.

I'd say our stadium has about 35-40k of surplus seating for any game other than FSU

USF's ticket sales are always below 30,000-with the exception of the game against FSU?

    So fat this year, yes.

  2. A group of 10 or so people sat behind me and my girlfriend about midway through the 1st. Most of them were very clearly incredibly drunk. They were all being incredibly obnoxious and dropping F bombs all over the place. Language doesn't bother me, but there were a lot of families around and I saw two mothers of small children that were upset over it.

At half time, the guy behind my girlfriend's seat throws up, and it splatters down on mine, and my girlfriends legs. The guy then sits there and says that he is fine, and that he wants to watch the rest of the game (this group was barely paying attention to the game in the first half). My buddy tells the vomiter that he has to go, and a couple of the vomiters friends stand up for the buddy, and let us know that they are season ticket holders and they have every right to stay. Security comes down and escorts the vomiter out, but his friends and my friends are still going back and forth.

None of the vomiters group apologized about getting puke on my or my girlfriends legs. Their drunken argument was that it wasn't a big deal, and he should have been able to stay. My girlfriend and I had enough by this point, so we left and tried to clean up and moved to a different section with unoccupied seats for the 4th quarter. I know that my friend went to guest services and complained about the entire group, but I don't know what happened after I left the seats. I really don't want to have to sit with these clowns all season.

I'm hoping someone has had experience dealing with dbag season ticket holders. Is there anyone I can call to see about getting these people removed, or am I out of luck?

TL,DR: Got puked on. Want to know someone to contact about the jackass group behind me.

    Thanks

    What section were you in?

  3. I'm venting..

This evening my section quickly became overrun with folks not owning seats in the section. Some were students and others were from other sections. In and of itself it's not a big deal if the seats are unoccupied; however, some actual ticket holders would show up to find their seats occupied. The problem tonight was that the squatters were drunken idiots ruining the experience for the rest of us. The ushers would run the squatters off and without fail the squatters would be back in another seat in a matter of minutes. It quickly became clear that these individuals were passing a single or group of tickets around amongst their friends to get them into the section. Is USF tasked with monitoring this or is Ray Jay?

Just out of curosity, what section were you in?

  4. Patrick Peterson is 6'2" 210LBS. I completely understand that 6'4" is too big, but if those numbers are a little exaggerated, which they normally are, then I wouldn't mind him as a SHUT DOWN corner. They would make the defensive front 7 look so much better than they already are!

Patrick Peterson also ran a 4.3 40 at the combine. Montgomery is listed at 4.6. I see Montgomery adding some weight and being a big physical WR for us.

  5. Also, a 9 to 1 TD:INT rate is just a BS stat when you just played Ball State, FAMU, and UTEP.  If we played five conference games right now, BJ wouldnt be looking so hot.

You cannot assume that. He has had no INT's against ND or Pitt and only a few came close in both games combined.

If "closeness" mattered then the defense was "close" to recovering 4 TO's against Pitt. We only got one of em.

Throw out those three junk games and he is 36/66 with 1 passing TD and 0 INTs.

See my reply to the other thread. K, thx.

    BTW - I didn't realize rushing TD's didn't count for 6 points as well?

Well, lets see.... YOU were the one who used the 9:1 TD to interception ratio. I just assumed you were giving me his PASSING STATS and that they were CORRECT. After further review BJ has 8 passing TDs and 1 Int with 3 rushing TDs.

So, did you only count SOME of his TDs?

Also, we are talking about BJ being a good QB. I think BJ is a great athlete and would make a great running back/tailback or tight end.  I just dont see him as a great qb.

    A 5'11 tight end?  ???

  6. Another Central Florida article which doesn't reference USF when we are clearly being considered by D'vo.

George O'Leary and the Knights kick off the 2011 season in style, at 11 p.m. on BHSN.

    WINTER PARK --

Central Florida is flooded with talent.  During the 2010-2011 season, we were spoiled with some of the best athletes in the country.  By the looks of it, the 2012 class won't be far off.  Our high school unit has created a list of some of the football players expected to make waves.  Leading up to the start of the high school football season, we will countdown the Top 20 High School Players to Watch in Central Florida.

    BHSN Countdown:  #1 Winter Park's D'Vario Montgomery

A freak athlete that can play 4 positions, D’Vario Montgomery holds the distinction of being the top player in Central Florida. The Winter Park Wildcat has made his name on the defensive side of the ball, but is being recruited a 4-star wide receiver. The 6-3, 210 pounder, can run a 4-5, 40 and has over nearly 20 offers in hand, but Alabama, LSU, and Florida are the leading contenders for his services.
