Gotcha. Somehow, it was backwards in my head like using a redshirt meant the kid left school earlier and sacrificed their senior season.

 

And I agree. You're sacrificing Flowers as a 23 year old with 4+ years of an offensive system, workout program, mechanics coaching, etc. for 19 year Flowers 6 months removed from none of those things in HS.

 

Well according to a friend's brother's cousin's friend, the end of USF Football is coming soon because of average attendance ......You might not get that senior year either way, be it by transfer, injury, no football etc

 

Agreed, Program is doomed if they can't fill more of those 5 dollar seats. Put Flowers in. Let him run around before its too late.

At a school like USF, 4 and 5 star recruits should be put on the field immediately. This aint Alabama where we can develop them. Never was our style. Matt Grothe stepped right in and we got to # 2 beating Auburn, WVU, etc... Throw in B.J. Daniels and we beat FSU on his 1st career start.

Ready for another outlandish comment? ....I also think Chuck Bresnahan should be Head Coach before we lose him to a school like Florida or Texas AM (I.E. Wally Burnham, Mark Snyder, etc) Dude consistently has a top 10 defense on the field.

I don't see the offense ever being anything more than mediocre. It's not a difficult offense to defend UNLESS you have an absolutely dominant oline, a very very good qb, a good RB, good TE's and WR that can beat double coverage. If you're missing one of those forget it. I also think how good the defense is has a big impact. That scheme is not built to come from behind at all. (people are gonna say well we came from behind western carolina) I'm talking about a legit FBS team. If they get up 17+ points against us you can almost just put the L in the book.

It's absolutely what he's trying to build. I didn't expect us to have a top offense this year. I expect something very weak again. Improvement from 122nd out of 125th in overall offense to something around 100-105th out of 125th. In my opinion, for this offense to really be good and very tough to defend every single piece has to be in place. Can't have 1 weak link. I just don't know if that's realistic to expect year in and year out (even after it's year 5 of Taggart being here) over the long haul. He might get it for 1 season but then back to mediocre.

 

I had to comment here. CWT will not get 5 years. He is on the hot seat now. Judy and the AD are watching very closely right now. If we would have lost against Western Carolina, he would be on track to be fired at the end of the season. Could very well still happen depending on how things play out. Coach Taggart knows this as well

This guy needs to be on the hot seat immediately. I bet there are better basketball players somewhere on USF's campus that can at least make some free throws and layups

I actually think Chuck Bresnahan should be the Head coach. It's amazing what he has done and how those kids play for him. He is a pretty good with interviews too. Willie Taggart should just be the OC/ QB's coach. Save some money USF. Do nothing.

Better to get it over with now, while we are rebuilding everything else. Anybody can do that job. It's just a figure head role who has a little bit of political clout. Anybody would do it for under 100k.
