Interesting....a CJL scowl ??  Hmmm....must be associated with interpretive reading ??  Or, after the game from a not so happy fan ??  Or, somebody didn't get a jello shot ??

Y’all were sassy about my Jell-O shots but all 200 were gone in like an hour 🤣

Thanks to everyone who came to the chapter tailgate and game! If you’re ever back in the DC area, feel free to reach out!

  2. For anyone not wanting to pay for a tailgate, the USF DC chapter will be having a free potluck tailgate by our bus in the North Lot. All are welcome to come. Bring something to share if you want/can.

If anyone is in town on Friday night in DC/VA/MD but not in Annapolis, we’re having an unsanctioned happy hour at Penn Quarter Sports tavern Friday from 5:30-8 pm. All are welcome to attend.

if anyone is staying around DC and needs recommendations of things to do:

    1. National zoo

    2. Monuments at night (Particularly the Teddy Roosevelt one)

    3. There are a few Caps and Nats games this week

Safe travels to everyone flying up, hope you can make our tailgate. See you all soon.

  3. For anyone flying into the Virginia airports and not making it to Annapolis til the game - we’re having an unsanctioned happy hour Friday night at Penn Quarters Sports Tavern in DC - walking distance to yellow, green, and red lines on metro. It’s a family friendly sports tavern so all ages are welcome.

We’re also having an informal tailgate before the game by our chapter bus, no cost to attend. It’s potluck style so bring something if you can. Otherwise we’ll have Jell-O shots to share. People are still encouraged to go to the USFAA tailgate, but are also welcome to our chapter one as well.

See ya in a few weeks.

  4. Hi everyone, we need about 15 more people to sign up to make our bus happen. We haven’t had much support from USFAA with promoting this so I need any and everyone’s support. For anyone flying into the northern VA airports, this is a solid deal. Please share with your networks. The deadline to register is Sunday the 15. Thanks!!

This may actually work for me and my wife. We are flying in for the game and staying in DC and then doing Gettysburg. When do you plan on finalizing things?

Hopefully within the next 2-3 weeks, I’ll post a final link here once we do.

  6. Hi All,

DC alumni chapter president here! For anyone coming up for the Navy game in October, the chapter is planning to charter a bus or two from northern VA to Annapolis. Navy doesn’t sell bus parking without game tickets being purchased, so our bus package would include game tickets. The seats would be in the visitor section and near (if not the same section) as tickets through USF. Bus + game tickets would be about $65-70, with the price going down if we get more people. The Alumni Association is also having a tailgate that people can add on for an extra $35. Water, soda, and Jell-O shots will be provided by the chapter for those taking the bus.

For anyone interested, please fill out our form (https://www.usfalumni.org/s/861/02-alumni/index.aspx?sid=861&gid=1&pgid=5080&cid=14899) and once we’ve gotten at least 40 interested, we’ll officially set up the bus. The bus would leave around 11 am from a metro stop in VA (we’re looking at also adding a stop at Union station in DC depending on cost), ride to Annapolis is about 45 minutes.

If you aren’t interested in the bus, tickets will be for sale through USF in August for the game. Let me know if you all have any questions, hope you can make it up. October is perfect weather here, and Annapolis is beautiful.

Here's the official ticket information from Athletics that we just got this week. I'll be at the UMD game, with jello-shots for sale as part of my fundraising duties, so make sure to find the DC Alumni group and say hi!

  9. Update:

The Alumni Association is doing a tailgate package that doesn't include tickets for the Maryland, Navy and FSU games. You do have to buy the tickets through the respective schools. The link on their ticket master: http://www.ticketmaster.com/USF-Football-tickets/artist/821761 takes you to the school site for Navy - it doesn't look like Maryland tickets are for sale yet, but per the email from athletics, they'll be available at the end of the month.

  10. Hi Everyone -

The Alumni Association is trying to put a package together for a tailgate and tickets for the game. The information above was directly from someone in Athletics who had called me to sell me season tickets. But our Alumni contact said they're working on a package, but that would be the only other option other than buying through the respective schools/stub hub.

But I'll pass along whatever info trickles in when it does. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, but that's all the information we've gotten unfortunately.

  11. Hi Everyone,

We got ticket information from Athletics today. You can buy tickets for UMD/Navy through the host schools, not USF.

Maryland – Single game tickets will be available beginning July 29. You may contact Maryland’s ticket office at 301-304-7070

Navy – Single game are currently available by calling 1-800-US4-NAVY

The NYC and Philadelphia alumni chapters are coming down as well, so it should be a good group.

Please let me know if you have any questions or need anything else.

  12. Hi Everyone,

I'm Genevieve and I'm the Fundraising chair for the local USF DC Alumni Chapter board of directors.

We are currently working with the national chapter to plan tailgates for both Maryland and Navy for the morning of the games.

For those coming in from out of town - feel free to email me and I'll keep you in the loop of what's going on - USFBullsDC@gmail.com

For anyone coming to Maryland - College Park is an easy drive from DC/VA. It's also metro accessible, so you can stay elsewhere and take the metro in. USF is going to be given an allotment of tickets and we encourage fans to purchase those so that USF gets the credit for the tickets. This is a noon game so it shouldn't be too cold for anyone coming in from FL.

For anyone coming to Navy - Annapolis is a beautiful city! It's not quite as easily accessible as Maryland though. Same thing for Navy, we'll have a certain number of tickets through the school. This game is at the end of October so it will most likely be chilly, so bring your long sleeves if you're coming from FL.

For places to stay: Airbnb is usually pretty decent rates. For Maryland game people, you can basically stay anywhere on the metro and be able to get to the game.

We're sending out feelers to our local folks to see if anyone would be interested in getting together the night before the games for a happy hour/dinner/tailgate.

We're also working with the local Philadelphia and NYC Alumni chapters to see what other events we can do.

I'll be at both games, with green and gold jello-shots, so the more the merrier!

Feel free to email me with any questions/comments/concerns/jello-shot requests!

    Genevieve
