Becht said it. But I'm sure you are more knowledgeable about football than he is.
Aren't you the guy who trusts the experts over some random message board joe?
Wow. No one has ever called the Stanford offense a west coast offense. I'm sure Becht is right and the rest of the world is wrong. Please find me a quote of anyone else in the world calling this a west coast offense.
Whoever said Becht is an expert?
Not to get in the middle of your discussion, but here you go:
http://www.mercurynews.com/sports/ci_26412330/purdy-stanford-football-not-messing-tradition
The relevant section of the article:
"I confirmed this again Tuesday, as the new college season approaches. I asked Cardinal coach David Shaw if he had ever considered switching from the team's longtime prostyle West Coast offense to the spread offense that is all the rage in college football today."

I've actually been to a few Furman games in Greenville, SC. Beautiful campus (Olmstead did the landscape architecture). My favorite cheer of theirs:
F.U. one time!
F.U. two times!
F.U. three times!
F.U. all the time!
:)
I graduated from Furman and I have lots of good memories. It is certainly one of the most beautiful campuses that I have been on, especially in the Fall.

Sorry USFSurfer06, we don't accept facts around here. No team that was ever bad has any chance to turn a corner and become good again, regardless of their record.
45-21 over a bad D2 Brevard.
35-17 over a bad D2 Catawba.
35-17 over Fuhrman.
That's "blowing out" teams? They are comfortable, unspectacular wins over weaker competition. If I were a WCU fan, I'd be marginally content. As a USF fan, I'm not impressed with our win over them. Our loss to Wisconsin was more impressive than our win over WCU.
I see
WIN over Brevard.
WIN over Catawba
WIN over Fuhrman
Not to nitpick, but it is Furman. No h in the name and they are a better team than you think.

Wife and I probably going to SMU. Our daughter, the USF Alum, now lives in Dallas and sent us this information so we can plan the trip! There is an early flight out on Southwest that Saturday that may work, provided the game isn't too early.

I think it also helped that Houston's D-Line is somewhat undersized and our O-Line was not overwhelmed by them as they were in the Miami game.

This is the only one I've piloted - not this exact plane, but this model - a 1941 version. Small planes are a blast to fly.

Taildragger huh? Not sure I could land one of those.

Cirrus? I thought it was Cessna. My bad.
Cessna has never built a plane that comes with a parachute. there is an option made by an aftermarket company, however the addition of the parachute takes away about 50 - 75 pounds of useful load. You may be thinking about another airplane, the Cirrus SR22, which does come with a parachute. http://cirrusaircraf...achute#productsMost of the new ones now come with a built-in parachute for the plane. If the engine fails, the chute brings the whole plane down gently. Even the old ones very rarely fall out of the sky if there are no drugs or alcohol involved. Sit back and enjoy the ride - it'll be nice. Watch out if the pilot overflies Pendleton though, they might just scramble some fighter jets on ya!No biggie... didn't mean to sound like an ass.

FYI - I just sent an email to the person mentioned in the thread and received a delivery failure. Brian, if you could possibly update the contact for donating tickets to BBS, that would be great. Thanks!
I can't use my Miami tickets, so I actually contacted them by phone. Bonnie still works there, they just changed the email addresses. Her new email is bonnie.mangione@bbbsfl.org. I am mailing them 4 tickets today to use on Saturday.

Contact Bullls Outfitter. That is where I got mine and I am sure they can ship it for you. They are nice, used it 2 seasons and still in great shape. I will say, I am the type to take it off on the first tee and not put it back on until the round is over, not between every shot, so that may help the longevity.
While you are at it, ask them about the great golf bags too. I have the cart bag and it rocks.
What he said!

Who cares, we have Michael Jordan's son. :ROFLMAO
Who cares about Michael Jordan's son, we have the much more "Famous" recruit.

I never saw anyone use the shovel in that manner-- it is held up in the air more like a spear than anything else.
pretty simple-- keep digging. Kinda like Rutgers Keep choppin wood
Can't find it now, but I saw a picture of our players on the UCF loga after Saturdays game with the shovel in the ground.
I hope they were NOT digging, but I am not sure from the picture.
Maybe we should either leave the shovel at home or on the sidelines...
lol. I guess I am too slow.
look up

is a tougher place to play than Notre Dame or the old Orange Bowl.

Those clowns are funny
Orange Bowl shouldn't even be a blip. If you can't fill up the stadium, it isn't any tougher than any other place.
Did you sellout your Conference "Championship" game at the frying pan?
You seem to be new here, so I'll give you a little history on this game.
UCF wasn't in control of ticket sales. It was run by CUSA and they blew it. People got discouraged because they kept thinking there were no tickets available. CUSA only released a little bit at a time, so it seemed like no tickets were available when they really were.
Miami couldn't even sell out against FIU and they are both IN MIAMI.(For the record, I never said UCF should be on the list, so I don't know why you brought it up to me).
DP,
You might want to look at NOBAMA83 again if you think he is new here.

Am I reading this right? If (when!) the women beat Seton Hall, their 2nd round game is against UConn?
-
I talked to someone in the Bulls office on the flight to Birmingham about this briefly. I don't remember all of the conversation, but basically he said that there were still plans, but it would probably not have the bull on the field. It would probably be in a cage outside the stadium for the fans to see, etc.
The main issue was liability I think.

Friday night sucks... I had a group of about 10 people that were going to come down for the SATURDAY WVU game, but dont event know if I can make it myself now.  > ÂÂ
Forgot about the out of town Bulls that make the home games. ÂÂ
It certainly makes it harder. We will be there from Orlando, but it sure cuts out the tailgating for this game. As somebody said earlier in the thread, it's no big deal in the grand scheme of things. The national exposure as we beat Auburn and WVU will make up for it!
GO BULLS!
-
I agree on both sides, as fickled as that may sound.
I think Friday night should be left alone for HS football. Although not the most watched sport in Tampa, it's huge in other parts of the country. A couple of highlights on Sportscenter will not show a potential recruit what USF football is all about. Yes, I think it makes a difference.
ESPN money is good any night, or day. Do they pay more on Friday night or Saturday at noon? I agree, we can't afford to turn down any extra cash.
GO BULLS!
It's always different, I remember I heard when we agreed to move our Cinci game in 2004 to Halloween Night the conference offered to throw in an additional kicker as an incentive.  So, yes I would say probably friday, weds, and holiday games the conference would give you special consideration.
Bien,
I wish they would have offered us an additional kicker last year!

i am in the band and there are two seperate bands. a mens band and a womens band. most of the seniors signed up to be in womens band because they will most likely get the chance to travel. the mens band is mostly freshman. you have to be patient with the band. they are told what to do (every song, even at the end of the game) over a head set. there are a lot of logistics that the fans don't know about. we got boo-ed at several home football games, because the fans didn't like that we ended a song that you were enjoying. the band wants to have a good time too at the games and keep the fans happy, but it is our job and we can't not listen to our boss so that the fans can be happy.
lsteele2 - I hope that the BB Pep band takes all of this with a little grain of salt. I have tried to stay out of this fight because I have a daughter in the band, but I want you to know that there are a lot of us out there that support your efforts for the athletics department. Izzo does seems like an avid fan and I am sure that he gets upset by the band at times. I would hope that eveybody could tone down the rhetoric a little and try to take positive steps to ensure that EVERYBODY has a good time while respecting the work and efforts of others. this includes the band and the fans that show up for every game.
My 2 cents.

Is it me, or did our players seem to have a really hard time this week keeping their footing?
