  1. Michigan didn't hammer Ball State either. BALL STATE!!!!!

Florida beat Tennessee on the road. Michigan beat a very suspect ND team to say the least.

Michigan beat ND in South Bend by 26, Florida beat Tennessee by 1.

This type of argument can, and will, go on for weeks to come.  I'm glad the Gators are going to NC game because they will be exposed by OSU.  Maybe then Urban Meyer will learn to stop crying.  Then again, he lives in a town full of crybabies.

Whatever - USF over ECU by 17.

  2. Like I mentioned in an earlier thread, the job of the BCS isn't supposed to put the two best conference champions in the national title game, the BCS should put the two best TEAMS there.

Florida is not the second best team in the country.  Tim Tebow up the middle IS NOT going to get it done against a stingy OSU defense.  All the UF fans can boast about playing in the SEC = playing tougher competition, but there's no way they're going to put up 39 points against OSU, like Michigan did in Columbus.

Someone earlier posted that Florida's top 3 victories were LSU, Arkansas, Tennessee.  They didn't hammer any of those teams and the LSU and Arkansas games were not played on the road.

I am neither a UM fan, nor a UF fan.  I would like to see the best game, and clearly that would be a rematch of what was a terrific college football game.

FYI, the two controversial schools couldn't be more similar.  Both have the whinniest and most illogical fans in the country.

OSU over UF by 24 points!  Enjoy your SEC title and trip to the NC game Gaytors.

  3. All of these statements about Florida "deserving" a shot because Michigan "had their chance already" is ridiculous.

Michigan is the second best team in the country, regardless of where they finished in the Big Ten.

The two top teams in the country should play for the national championship.

OSU will beat either team anyway, but the OSU/UM matchup would be a closer game than OSU/Florida.

On ESPN last night, Chris Fowler stated that the word out of Vegas would be that UM would be favored by a touchdown over UF on a neutral field.

One thing is for certain - GO BULLS!

  4. If USF and UConn both win, USF will most likely get the Motor City Bowl because they'll have seven wins.  The Motor City bowl has a tie-in with the Big East if the Big Ten can't fill its spot, but that's only contingent on if the Big East has a seven win bowl eligible team without a bowl.

If USF loses and UConn wins, the Motor City bowl doesn't necessarily have to take USF because they will only have 6 wins.

Of course, we'll know where we're headed after tomorrow night.  Let's keep our fingers crossed...

  5. Cee-  Steve Mariucci had loads of talent on the offensive side of the ball, and made everyone worse than they were when they came in.  There's not anyone in Southeastern MI who's upset about Mariucci getting fired.  Interviews of some of the Lions players today were extremely telling.  Let's put it this way, none of the players seemed to be too unhappy.  Even Tom Izzo, his best friend, was quoted as saying "it's going to be good for him."

This Mariucci talk is pure stupidity.  He will be in Green Bay when Sherman gets the boot and Favre retires.  Then he can ruin Aaron Rodgers' career.  We don't need to worry about Mariucci coming to USF, even if CJL does go elsewhere.

  6. This is the most ridiculous post of the lot.  Coming from someone who's lived in Detroit the last nine years, there's absolutely NO way that USF should pursue Mooch.  His version of the West Coast Offense is a joke.  He should take it back out to the West coast.  If USF wants to consider a former Detroit Lions head coach, they should contact the most legendary Lions coach in their long and unillustrious history:  The BIG BUCK, Mr. Wayne Fontes.  He already lives in the Tampa area and he's good friends with Barry Sanders.  Maybe he could bring Barry in as a backs coach.

    Now that's an idea ;)

  7. USF students, alums, and fans are rightly pissed off after this loss.  However, I am excited about the prospect of defeating another ranked oppenent in Tampa, and then playing a decent ACC team in the Car Care Bowl.

During the game, the trivia question said it all - it took Florida State forty-some years to get to the Sugar Bowl.  We've only been D 1-A for what - 4 years now?  It's tough being patient for this team to "grow up."  Eventually, we will be able to compete with the upper-echelon programs from week to week.

When I attended USF, we didn't have a football team to cheer for.  This season has exceeded expectations.  Am I happy about the play of Julmiste (or Denson), or the play calling by our lame duck OC?  Absolutely not.  But I do recognize the fact that we always play well at RayJay, and we have nothing to lose next week against WV.  I imagine we'll play loose next week.

Get behind your team Bulls Fans.  FSU got embarassed today by UF.  You can bet FSU's fans/alumni will still support them next week in the ACC championship.

I'll make the trip from Detroit to see them play in Charlotte.  I hope to see many proud Bulls fans.

    Beat WV next week!!

  8. Where's the Detroit-area watch party??

I love all of the success we've had so far this year.  I've really had to educate the masses here in the Metro-Detroit area about USF Football.

Does anyone have an idea what game ABC is showing in the Midwest?

Regardless, I'm making a road trip, whether it's to Charlotte or Atlanta! I've already made trips to Happy Valley and Pitt.

    Go Bulls!!!
