What's being built by the engineering area? I saw they fenced off that whole area plus a parking lot.

A couple of projects going on around engineering.  Check out the map.

Fortunately, for me anyway, hockey will help fill the void thru April.  And if the Lightning continue to get their act together...hopefully thru May and beyond!
You Tampa locals really oughtta check out the Storm games.  They really are a lot of fun to watch.  And there are several Bulls on AFL rosters.  Although it was the first year in a LONG time they haven't made the playoffs, the Storm really did help fill the void last year, and expect it to again (thru June!).  Plus, those Storm cheerleaders really are smokin'... Dr. George Companioni at Tampa Orthopedics, which is in the building next to UCH right on the corner of Fletcher and BBD.
He did a fantastic job on the knee.

Good luck!

Wow!  You can have season tickets and not be a Bulls Club member?
Yes.  Not only from the recent grad/Alumni grace period, but there's also a faculty/staff section (138), plus some others that don't require a contribution. ÂÂ

I’m curious as to what is the best or most popular tailgate meal for a noon game is.  I’m thinking Breakfast Burritos with mimosas.
That's what we're doing.  Easy to do on my portable grill.  Grilling up breakfast and/or smoked sausage on one side, and on the flat side the messy egg scramble.
Mimosas, Bloody Mary's, and spiked coffee will be the drinks of choice...In addition to beer ÂÂ

Don't forget to factor-in faculty & staff, and family & friends of students, faculty & staff, and alum.
I (alum & staff member) bring along 5 add'l family members to each game.  My bro (alum & staff) brings himself and one other (hopefully more soon).
Not sure if you wanna distinguish them separately from your "fan" category or not.
Regardless, it's certainly not graduates alone you're seeing out there, and we're all fans! ÂÂ

I got there a few minutes after 11am when it was just about empty, and by kick-off all seats were indeed taken.  Great atmosphere and grand time.  If you're going to any "official watch party site", you'll definitely want to get there early!
Love Clubhouse, and we plan to be there for the remaining away games.

I'm pretty sure our's was the best bus (Bus #1). ÂÂ
Yes...We did go back.  Wondered why the heck we got off the highway and did this crazy stripmall tour past the Harley dealership.  Started heading back the other way when Eric told us what had happened.
Must've been extremely embarrassing for the 2 Bulls fans that jumped on the bus, but that little jaunt easily set us back an hour <sigh>  They must've been hammered, or on such a high after that win that they didn't know which bus was which!
But what can you do?  Kudos to everybody on the bus for being such good sports about it...
-
That's a debate from last season.
Regardless...I think it's the reverse for RayJay.  Infants (or lap-sized kids anyway) are allowed in free for the Bulls games, but a ticket *is* required for them for the Bucs games. ÂÂ
-
the bus seems like a great deal.  take advantage.  probably a lot of drunk people passed out on the way home tho
No way...We'd be driving back with a busload of happy BULLS fans, not UCF fans (who will be passed-out in their own parking lots after they trash them)ÂÂ
I know a few folks on the same list.  Some great fans, and it would definitely be a good time.  Hope it happens!

Came within a hair of buying the tailgate and game tix separately cuz I thought the bus package was sold out.  This certainly would be much more convenient...and fun.  3 more signed up on the list then! ÂÂ
-
Huh?!?!? I talked to Debbie at that number yesterday and she told me that all the busses were booked.

Since we're on the subject of stadium questions...Are all the seats (well, the USF sections anyway) bench seating?
And for those of you hitting the USF pre-game tailgate...Any idea where it is, and if it's located anywhere near the stadium?  Was wondering if we need to park there, then drive to the game, or if we could just walk, or if there was a bussing option for the tailgaters?!?!
And just FYI...I did call and confirm that the $88 bus/pre-game tailgate/ticket package is all sold out.
Gracias.

I bought the rolling cooler at the Target near USF a couple weeks ago...It is SWEET.  They also have some of those other items over there.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL
USF's Howard Injures Knee Again
University of South Florida point guard Chris Howard is expected to miss a second consecutive season after tearing the ACL in his left knee for the second time in nine months.
Howard, who was slated to be the Bulls' starting point guard, suffered the injury last Thursday. He missed all of last season after tearing his ACL on Nov. 8. Howard declined comment Wednesday.
Without Howard and sophomore Collin Dennis, who left the program in May, senior walk-on Chris Capko is the only returning point guard for the Bulls. Last year without Howard, the Bulls finished last in the Big East in assists, assist/turnover ratio and turnover margin.

"Kingpin" is obviously the best bowling movie
Glory Road was pretty darn good.

We generally tailgate with the USF Club (http://usfweb2.usf.edu/usfclub/), and am a member of their "tailgate committee".  Which means I meet with several other members beforehand, caravan over together, and do the onsite setup.
Two to three canopies, several tables, huge cooler of different beers, and I bring the 'ol Thermos portable grill (grill-2-go).  Prefer charcoal, but that's a pain-in-the-butt to mess with.  Usually grill up dogs, italian sausage, brats, and wings.  And sautee a huge batch of peppers and onions beforehand to bring.
The tailgate vehicle of choice...My good 'ol F-150.
All members and guests usually bring something, so there's always a ton of food....and beer.

now all we need is for the city of tampa to step up and actually make downtown a place anyone actually wants to go.  short of channelside there is NOTHING for anyone to do around there.
After visiting Portland (OR), Boston, DC, and other cities, you really see just how "dead" our city core is compared to the vibe in those cities.
The old philosophy here was to buy land and expand outwards (see New Tampa), which does nothing to promote downtown as a destination.  But places like Pinellas are making a killing on the tax dollars from condo towers, and Tampa's following suit.  I would think the long term goal is to funnel this into projects like the river walk (the one in San Antonio is a HUGE draw), more green space and other public areas.
Next time anybody drives on the Crosstown, count the number of tower cranes out there.  It's almost surreal to see the volume of condo development in the Channelside area.  Once buyers stop flipping and actually start moving in and living there, maybe the retail space and the vibe will follow.  And perhaps a light rail system...a standard in the "successful" cities.
USF Downtown (at the Port Authority) can only get bigger!!!  BTW...I know that the College of Architecture has been involved in some interesting revitalization projects with the city.  Hopefully they'll play a huge role in helping out...

The best thing to come out of all this Huggins talk is publicity for USF. All local sports talk shows were talking about it, and I've never heard so many callers call in to talk about USF, Huggins, and RMC. Not to mention the print and online media.
Surprisingly...After all the hype of the past few days, not a word about it in the Trib today.

And when they fully mature they look like:

These suckers nest in just about all the power poles along I-4.

Don't forget about Cliff Dell.  He's back with Orlando now.
He tore is ACL in the 3rd quarter of that game and is out for the season now ÂÂ

Went to the Storm/Predator game yesterday at the Forum.  Sucked to lose like we did (4 turnovers led to 4 touchdowns by the Preds...we gave them that game).
But it was nice to see DeAndrew Rubin playing in there (even on the wrong team).  He got one of the Pred TDs, and a fumble recovery when Stafford lost the ball. ÂÂ
Bill Gramatica seems to be consistently getting a bit better with each game.  He made each PAT (8-for-8 ), and missed his only FG attempt.
Hope they keep it up!

NEBull....AH-HA! I was wondering who the culprit was that snagged USFBULL for NH. Lived in Hanover last year and tried to get, but opted to wait knowing my NH residence status would be short-lived.
Shooting for UConn this year at least. Must say, the Dartmouth/Ivy league football games are just not the same (college hockey is proving a nice substitute though).
I believe the plate pic is uploaded and available now, but if that's not the case, pls let me know and I can definitely shoot it out, at least by email.
