Bobby Cremins would be high on my list.  Did some pretty good things at Georgia Tech and is a good recruiter of the NY area.  After taking a few years away from coaching he took the job at College of Charleston.  Don't even know if he would consider the job or if his current job is kind of a semi retirement (not filled with the stress of coaching in the BE)

Just voted for option #2 as it sounds like it will be much easier and faster service.  Thanks for setting this up, sounds like a great time hanging with Bulls fans.

I was looking at the All BE team, and it seemed USF was under represented, so I decided to count how many each team had on the first and second team.  What is wrong with this picture folks.  We are woefully under represented on the all BE teams.

Remember, the team is voted on by the Big East coaches -- and a coach can not vote for his own players.

Lets not forget these are some of the same coaches who vote in the poll and none thought we were worthy of a vote.  Yea,  I think its a slight of sorts.

I live in Pinellas and I just ran a map quest from my house and also Rand McNally directions.   Here are the results.

Map Quest has you going I75 - 627 miles with an estimated travel time of 9 hours and 36 minute.

Rand McNally has you going US 19 - 556 miles with an estimated time of   10 hours and 25 minute.

US 19 is shorter in miles but longer in time, from Pinellas County.

for the Louisville game on Saturday.  Every year I make a trip to Atlanta with my brother and some friends to golf and catch a Georgia Tech football game (my brothers alma mater).  The Tech game is at 1:30 and I have talked the group into hitting a sports bar that night to catch the USF game.  We have been doing this trip for years and the last 3 years we have been going to the sports bar to catch the USF game.  I think the name of the sports bar we have been going to is Famous Sports Bar and Pub, or something close.  We will be staying close to Georgia Tech so if there is a watch party I would love to come.  Just give me the name of the place and some simple directions and we will be there.

Our football team has not been at one level of competition long enough to judge what kind of recruiter Leavitt will ultimately turn out to be.  Before we make any judgement about that yet we need to see where this past year's class turns out during their JR and SR years.

We jumped from 1AA to 1A which allowed us to attract a completely different level of athlete.  Then 2 years later we went to a conference affiliation which allowed us  a step up.  Then 2 years later to a BCS level of competeition with the potential to play for the National Championship.  if you ever read the quotes from some of the higher rated recruits we have been talking to the last couple of years, they all state they would never have given USF a second thought if it wasn't for the BCS affiliation.

The reason we are so young is that the younger players we have been recruiting since announcing we were joining the Big East, for the most part, have been superior athletes/football players than what we had before.  Now that we are recruiting those superior athletes, they need to learn how to play football (not just get by because they are the fastest guy on the field) and mature physically.

I don't think you fairly judge Leavitt until the we are on a level playing field depth wise as other BCS schools.  That will take another couple of years.

Some of these post sound just like the media.  My biggest problem is the perceived notion that if you were good for several years in a row you are a good team forever.

FSU is a top 30 or so team on the feild and so are the Bulls.  The difference is the history of FSU has the media and apparantly some posters thinking they are still better.  This game in my opinion would be a toss up.

To say FSU will continue to stay near the top because they have a top 20 recruiting class is asinine.  This is just like ranking the top 25 pre-season, and when a highly ranked team has a bad year and ends with 5 or 6 losses still refering to them as a top team.  My point is ranking before a kid plays is just an opinion, eduated opinion maybe, but with the number of high school seniors in the country it may not be that educated.

FSU has had top 20 recruiting classes for many years and yet the records over the last five years do not compare to their record the previous 5 years.

prior to 2001 they were used to 2 loss seasons being a bad year.

My point is we are catching them at a much faster rate than many believe. (On the field anyway, the media will always be years behind, lets face it they though ND would compete for the national title, history had something to do with that prediction)

The reason we are catching up is because of their depth.  If healthy their starters on a whole are better than ours. (but you don't go through an entire football season without injury).  We have taken some kids that would have started for FSU or Miami, and we have taken most of the kids that would have been the second string).  So when they have injuries, like FSU has, they fall fast.

Just my opinion, and like always, GO BULLS!

I have to agree with Grateful, the future looks bright.  I also am not sure if it gels this year or not until next (hoping for this year).

If you break down the majority of the complaints its, no running game, or giving up 3rd down conversions, etc.  These problems all come down to the OL and the DL.  Both lines have a number of new players.  The lines on a football team take the longest to come together because everyone needs to be on the same page to be successful.  You can't make up for shotcomings on sheer athlethic ability like some other positions.  It takes the entire line working together to be successful running the ball.  And the same holds true on the DL to pressure the QB.  A secondary can only cover a receiver for a short period of time after that any D-2 QB will find an open receiver.

We have a young QB with a ton of upside.  A tremendous amount of athletes in the skill positions and LB and defensive secondary that is fast and athletic.  Give the lines time to come together and I feel we have a hell of a future.

When you rarely blitz, especially in obvious 3rd down passing situations, you usually don't get pressure on the QB.  I know our main concern was to take away their running game (which we did fairly well) but you have to pressure the QB on 3rd and long.

The worst argument ever is the conference needs to go out and schedule more 1 and 1 with the top of other BCS conferences.  You make it sound like ordering a pizza.  Hello USC, Texas, LSU, etc. lets play football against each other next year.  Not that easy, sorry.
