  1. N.C.A.A. Fan Map: How the Country Roots for College Football

With data based on Facebook ‘likes’, we estimated the boundaries of fandom for 82 teams.

    OCT. 3, 2014

All told, 82 programs can reasonably claim to be the most popular college football team somewhere in the United States.

Sounds like USF is not measured.

  2. I hate, hate, HATE, the bottom floating banner. It appears to be related to your ticket liquidators / stub hub ad and possibly from the Chitka ad partner. This ad partner may be including some code that runs the popup ad. (I'm not 100% sure it's their fault, but it only shows up when their ad loads into the top or bottom 728 x 90.

Whoever owns this site should consider removing that ad partner as it's killing your user experience. I also browse this website with my iPad. I know I never contribute, but I visit often. I agree with the other user that this could cause me to not come back with my iPad. That's bad for you because I will continue to use my iPad to browse websites because it's easier than using my desktop/laptop.

  3. Yes, I told them why I canceled.  USFinthere, the recruiting section - Signing Day Wrap-up actually is a special section the regular sports page was inserted into.  Page 1 of the real sports section has UF MBB winning and FSU MBB losing at the top of the page with a large NASCR pick of Kevin Harvick and wife and the homo Magic player arts.  If you look carefully there is a small line under the FSU art telling you where  the USF story is.

Gene, I don't blame Bret or Greg.  I just think enuff is enuff.  I will prolly still read one or the other during the week but I don't read the weekend additions anyway so I'm keeping a $1.70 a week by not subscribing.

Funny story about the Times and my Dad.  My Dad being former Pinellas county sheriff got pissed at the Times when they were tearing the Pinellas Co. Sheriff at the time a new rectum for some of his policies.  So my Dad canceled them.  He continued to buy the paper out of a machine which cost him an extra $1-1.25 each week.  For some reason he refused to buy the Trib.  Go figure.

Fair enough, but I'd rather be on the front full color page of the signing day wrap than the front page of today's black and white sports section (which when you include the wrap is actually page 3)  8-)

  4. SPTimes Coverage:  Equal teasers for UF/FSU and WVU/USF on front page, main section.  UF/FSU takes top 3/4 of sports section front page (above the fold).  USF/WVU takes bottom 1/4 of sports section front page (below the fold).  UF/FSU story is covered on pages 8 and 9 in a full color, spread even taking up the fold space in the middle of the paper.  USF/WVU is a black and white full page story on page 3c.

Tribune coverage:  Sports teasers on main page.  USF/WVU has a larger bold teaser.  UF/FSU and USC/Notre Dame have smaller font teasers.  USF/WVU take the top 1/3 of the college bonus front page (above the fold).  UF/FSU takes nearly the bottom 2/3rds with USC/Notre Dame mixed in (also above the fold).  UF/FSU has larger type on the college bonus section.  USF/WVU has one page of black and white coverage.  UF/FSU has 2 pages of black and white coverage.

I obviously take both papers at my home.   :D

  5. 1. The win against USM

    2. Playing the halftime show with my high school band during USF's first season.

    3. Stampeding the field as part of the HOT during our first-ever pre-game show.

    4. Doing the heisman pose in the end zone during the Trombone section's more creative storming of the field (HOT's first year - pre-game).

    5. Being in the band during the Monsoon game, and getting props for staying in the stands.

    6. The Louisville Win!

    7. Charlotte, NC (New Year's Eve)

    8. Capogna's Dugout

    9. Watching multiple blocked kicks in a season because our special teams were dominant.

    10. Watching Bill Gramatica nail a field goal INTO a tuba.
