What’s a BCS? That was definitely magic kingdom stuff. Win a key game in a dying league and replaced bowl structure.  Awesome though if that’s what you have, flaunt it.  Like the MACtion, ASun and Cusa wins.

Usf couldn't get to a BCS Bowl and had AQ access for 7 years. Even UConn got in one. Usf won only 2 games in that same defunct and dying conference in 2013. It's fans like you why usf has empty seats in Ray Jay. Spoiled by the BCS Big East days and still trying to pretend it's all a bad dream, still.

Baylor, #15 Houston, Georgia probably in that order.  Georgia was our first bowl win and I think it came the same time as yours against NC State give or take a day.

#15 Houston? How about #6 Louisville at their place vs C. Strong? Alabama in 2000 was big because it was our first over a P5 (formerly BCS) opponent.

For years prior to the AAC, USF never recognized UCF as a rival.  What if during that time, UCF made a trophy without the consent or knowledge of USF and brought it to one of our games and left it in the UCF bench.  After USF won, what would've USF do?  Actually, what if Tulsa declared USF a rivalry, made a trophy and left it on their bench?  Would USF care?   The trophy was  left on the UConn bench.  According to some UCF staff, nobody knew what to do with it.  UConn contrived the trophy.  They can keep it, we'll just take the "W".

Goldie is just butthurt that someone called out Hitt on his statement that came across as entitled and confident, and that someone compared UCF to ECU.

I wouldn't want to be compared with them either, but that's beside the point.  This is a simple case of UCF fans trying to drag USF fans down to their level.  Move along, nothing to see with Goldie, as usual.

Naw, just getting back to the old days seeing if y'all were still the USFers I remember. Didn't mean to cause a stir.  Honestly, the B12 thing has all of us up in arms.  I dropped that thing from our AD Danny White for a reason. He made a good point. It'd be great to us both together.

Why are you so sure USF would do the same?  I would imagine Judy/Harlan's response would go something like this:

"We are aware of the possibility that the Big 12 Conference may be expanding.  We are happy and fortunate to be in the American Conference and will do all we can to support our current conference home.  However, we will always do what is the best interest of the University of South Florida."

Please stop trying to bring us down with you.  Your president came across as entitled and clearly USF is taking a more publicly mature and honorable approach to this.

Okay, believe what you want. There's a difference between answering questions and touting your schools capabilities (which nothing Hitt or DW said was classless or dishonorable, but you like to twist it that way because that's how that's how the USF mind works) and begging for inclusion, which this is nothing of the sort.

AD Danny White on Big12, UCF and USF this morning.  He said himself UCF would rather not go out and politic like other schools.  But won't shy from educating more folks on UCF.

Why the **** would I spend my actual time doing that? I'm on a USF site because I care about USF. You're on a USF site because you want people to care about UCF. See the difference? Also, I have a laundry list of things more important to do:

    • eat dinner
    • play Pokemon Go
    • finish the bottle of wine I started
    • take a dump
    • watch the Cubs game
    • sit on the toilet an hour later pretending to take a dump so I can play around on my phone without anyone ********
    • get the mail
    • throw out 99% of the mail
    • finish the last season of The Wire
    • open a second bottle of wine

I actually just copy and pasted the transcript that Brandon from our site took from the audio.  He was there and recorded it.

UCF AD: Knights can 'elevate' Big 12 if invited to join conference

God bless you, Goldie. 14 years and you haven't changed a bit ...

I read that article and re-tweeted it. It's a good article.  DW is 100% right. Look around, every candidate is touting their schools of called to interview.  Big difference in being chosen to give a perspective, rather than whoring themselves on social media like ECU, BYU a UH have done. Even Cincy's new president has been tweeting market sizes around Cincy.  UCF has been doing nothing.

^ They went 0-12 last year.  In the AAC.  Ill-advised comments from the AD.  And indirectly insulting to the current Big XII membership.

How? You're just choosing to read into it as you want to see it.  Nobody else will see it like that.  Nice try.  Like this article would impact anything.  It's a positive piece on UCF from ESPN. There's nothing here damaging in any way.

Relevant to the above discussion: UCF would "elevate" Big XII according to UCF AD.  Where's the humility?  So much for quiet approach...

Umm, ESPN contacted UCF. They're not going to turn down an interview.  This was AD speak and nothing we haven't heard from any school in the running. You're reaching.

First, thank you for posting this in this thread rather than the one dedicated to JK's article. Second, STFU with the whining. You've once again provided a shining example of the Kanigit lack of reading comprehension. From JK's linked article, "We ought to be considered very seriously. There ought to be a home for us in the Big 12. Whether there will be or not, we’ll see," Hitt said Wednesday morning. "But we’re going to do everything we can to be sure people make whatever decision they make based on good information."

Ga said that we were playing it smart and humble and HItt wasn't, which is dead on. They may not be pandering as much as some of the others but, publicly, they're not taking the same tact as USF is.

That wasn't the real quote. The O-Sentinel mid-quoted it.  Find the link to the video of it.  So you're wrong.

You nailed it.  Like I just said to Goldie, we're playing it smart, humble and the way a good potential business partner should play it, which isn't exactly how John Hitt played it with his comment that there "ought to be a place for UCF."

Trust me, UCF's Hitt is smart and very well respected by the B12 presidents. He knows better and UCF hasn't issued any social media or any kind of media campaign.  And for a reason.

Hitt's statement was taken out of context.  It was a dig as soon as he compared us to ECU.

    Here's Hitt's actual true full answer/quote:

"Long term if you look at, or near term, if you look at UCF versus all the other possible additions to these conferences, we ought to be considered very seriously. There ought to be a home for us in one of them. Whether there will be or not, we'll see. We're going to do everything we can to be sure that people make whatever decision they make based on good information."

    Hitt never mentioned Big12.

What's with the dig at UCF and Hitt at the end?   UCF has been mum this entire time. Can't equate Hitt's answer to an interview question in the past to ECU and their embarrassing statements and social media blitz. There's been no statement from UCF on expansion, other than the typical "we are evaluating opportunities, proud members of AAC" stuff. If anything, USF is taking UCF's approach, instead of issuing a statement, like they were mentioned to be doing before.

  14. I stopped reading after this paragraph...

"Getting Kansas State football into the city of Orlando is actually the much bigger deal when it comes to adding UCF to the Big 12. One of the top tourist destinations on the planet, there’s a lot of revenue to be gained and of course, more money for the Big 12 equals more money for Kansas State. By the way, the Big 12 is the only conference of the “power 5″ that does not have a school located in Florida."

I didn't know the Pac12 and B1G were in Florida already.

LOL ... Missed that one. Apparently the B12 beat writers aren't the sharpest. Reminds me of the Ok State one who didn't realize that UCF had been to a BCS bowl a year and a half ago.

    That part was pretty weak.

  15. Just so you all know. Being #2 mid-season for 1 week in 2007 will not even be considered or remembered when it comes to B12 expansion. UCF finished in the 10 in 2013 and that is good, but will not determine B12 expansion. First, Texas needs to agree to drop the LHN and convert it to the B12 network. If that happens, then the league will look at candidates. They may already be researching candidates, in case it needs to be a swift move. But no B12 network has been announced yet. Who knows, TX and OK may bail on their own and crumble the whole thing. However, right now, as much in denial you all are, UCF is in serious contention here and not much talk on USF. The Big East past is no longer relevant.

    Link?

I just posted one and there are several others already saying UCF is a contender. But you don't care unless there's an official pres release from the Big 12, right? Probably wouldn't happen.
