To the OP, I think these lots require a parking pass that is bought digitally or something.  Someone can explain it, but general admission is now down the road at another site.  I've been ubering and just getting dropped off down the road or walking from hotel.

As for which parking lots are drunk bro-fest and rowdy, I never see any around the stadium.  Usually there are just people calmly making BBQ, drinking, and throwing a football around.

Oh ok, darn :/  Back in Cincy we have some pretty crazy student tailgates and parties before games, I wonder if it has to do with stadium location.  Hopefully you guys get an on campus stadium.

I like lot 6.  Lots of die-hards there.  When I first got my tickets years ago, we were in 6D--very close to the stadium, but we thought the tailgating was kind of tame.  Moved into lot 6 around 2009 to be with friends and under the trees (the trees are gone now--see rant below).  We see many of the same people year after year, and they are true die hard fans with some **** good tailgates.  Typically there is lots of drinking, good food, music, etc.  I recommend lot 6, but I can't speak for the other lots because lot 6 (and 6d) is all I know.

Removal of the trees rant:  Last year or 2 years ago, they removed the shade trees from lot 6.  I'm sure it had something to do with "safety" or insurance or whatnot...or maybe just that it confused the parking guys too much when they tried to park cars there.  What really sucks is what the trees have been replaced with (and I think this is in every lot.).  Now we have these dystopian looking light poles with cameras and speakers on them.  It makes me feel like they are setting up Raymond James to be a prison camp where they keep people like me who are skeptical about the intentions of my government.  A few hours before the game, these robot speakers start "talking":  Welcome to Raymond James Stadium...and then they proceed to tell me how to be safe and instruct me on the proper way to wash my hands.  This is on a continuous loop until game time.  WTF?  What is the world coming to?

Shame they got rid of the trees, that sounds awful.  Thanks, lot 6 sounds pretty nice!

Not a joke, but there is a national manhunt underway for Brian Laundrie.  The story somehow turned to Fort De Soto park:

In February, Petito shared an image of her and Laundrie together at Fort De Soto Park, located about 75 miles away from the Laundries' home.

Had no idea, I hope justice is served :/

That problem goes a little beyond just an OCS when you're 0-12 against FBS teams in the last two years. 😂 But yes, an OCS would be nice.

Enjoy your visit. Also, if you're the brewery type, check out Dunedin. Like 10 or so breweries all walking distance from each other on a trail and the town is awesome. Definitely worth a stop.

    Awesome will do, thanks!

    1. Good places to stay?

    • Downtown Tampa: Hilton, JW Marriot, Hyatt, Aloft Tampa Downtown, Sheraton Hotel
    • Close to Stadium: Aloft Tampa Midtown, AC Hotel by Marriot, any of the hotels near the Airport
    • Close to nightlife: See downtown tampa above, Epicurean Hotel,

    2. Good Cuban food?

    • Columbia in Ybor, Le Segunda Bakery, La Terisita, West Tampa Sandwich Shop

    3. Best beach?

    • For partying and a younger crowd, St. Pete Beach (near Post Card Inn)
    • For a family oriented touristy experience, Clearwater Beach
    • For a quiet not as crowded experience, Indian Rocks, Sand Key

    4. Nightlife?  (I'm 21)

    • Most the college kids go to Soho (South Howard). There are about 10 bars within a mile of each other. Some of the most popular are Bar Howard, Macdintons, Soho Saloon, and Yard of Ale
    • If you're into line dancing and country music, check out Dallas Bull
    • If youre into a more young professional crowd (college kids still go here), check out downtown tampa (Parks and Rec, Gen-x, American Social, etc.)

    5. How is the tailgating and where do I park?

    • Tailgating is probably a $&#@show if you havent been before. The two main things are that (1) if you want to park with friends or family, you have to drive in together because they won't allow you to save spots and (2) you need to buy your parking in advance (you can do this on Raymond James Stadium's website)..
    • Lot 4 (on the north side of the stadium) usually has a younger crowd, as thats the side the student section is on. Most of the fraternities rent out houses or lots to tailgate out of in the area, so although you may see one or two fraternity tailgates at the stadium, the majority will not be at the stadium.
    • Lot 6 (on the south side of the stadium) is usually more family oriented. That is also the side on which they usually have "Bulls Bay" set up which I am not sure if they do anymore.

    6. Flags allowed in?

    • They will let you in with a flag but if one of the sentry security guards (aka glorified mall cops) decide they don't like it, they will kick you out (I got kicked out during last year's USF-UCF game because I had a trump flag)

Thank you for all the help!

You ready to see all 20 students in attendance rush the field or what?

I hate when student sections have attendance issues, hopefully some of the money you get from when we leave for the BIG12 will get you guys an on campus stadium.

I guess people would say Clearwater Beach is the "best beach" but I always try to avoid that one because of traffic.  Although we are talking Nov 12th here.  I wonder if there will be any traffic on any beaches :D

I mean November in Florida it'll still be like 80s temp I assume.

We have an Embassy Suites right on campus which helps to make it a nice area and the campus is right near Busch Gardens. There are some bars and clubs because of the student body but I wouldn’t consider it a real nightlife area to anyone not going to school there. There is also an Embassy Suites near Amalie arena which is a nice spot and there are some okay going out places there. Both of those locations would be above $200. The area you are looking to cover is kind of a triangle and would be 14 miles apart from various points. I think your best option is probably near the airport where you have quick access to 275 which will get you to the beach as well as the campus and arena (it’s also very close to the stadium) and there are more cheaper options. Busch gardens and campus  however will have you at your furthest point from the airport on the day you are leaving so I hope you have a later flight.

Awesome this seems very helpful!  Yeah the flight back is like 8 or 9 I think

The campus is nowhere near the stadium, do you want to go to campus for any particular reason or are you looking to be closer to the stadium?

Just wanted to see the campus plus planned on visiting Busch Gardens, I fly in gameday morning the 12th and then fly back the 14th late at night.  So my plans is 12th: Bearcats game and nightlife  September 13th: Beach and Lightning game and going out after  September 14th: Busch Gardens and visiting the campus then fly back

For 1 I think we need a bit more information like how much do you want to spend a night, are you a member of any loyalty programs, how far from the stadium do you want to be and what is it care to be close to

I would like to stay under like 150$ a night staying 2 nights, not a loyalty member, I've been to a Bengals game in Tampa younger and I know the area is very sketchy so I just want to be either near the campus or near the nightlife I guess.
