Volleyball isn't football or basketball. You seriously believe that we need to invest in top-shelf facilities in order for USF women's volleyball to compete with Tulane, Cincinnati, SMU, etc. and finish in the top half of the AAC standings on an annual basis? I'm not talking about competing for national titles, I'm talking about being a competitive team in a minor league. If that's truly the case then I will never mention the sport again. It's not worth the investment.

I was clearly addressing your argument about not needing top facilities to attract top talent, but you made this into a sexist argument when you stated women's in front of volleyball and not in front of basketball.  Athletes are athletes.  If someone believes facilities are needed to be upgraded to attract top talent, it shouldn't be a gender issue. Until you have walked in the shoes of a female student athlete, your point is moot. I agree to disagree with you.

Seriously? Volleyball facilities are inferior? Our great university and geographic location should be more than enough to build a program that’s consistently competitive in the AAC. It’s already been done. USF volleyball used to be a consistent NCAA Tournament qualifier. Between 1993 and 2002, we went to the NCAA Tournament 7 times. Don’t give me that nonsense.

Question for you.....since football used to be good in the past, is it necessary to have an ITF to attract top recruits and improve winning?  Are you in favor of the ITF?  And what was the rational for the bball practice facilities upgrades?  Im just curious.

Yes, but its been quite a while.  Is the Corral that much worse than our competition in the AAC VB facilities?

The Corral is functional and cozy, I don't see anything wrong with it.

cozy yes. But believe it or not, even during this rough season, there were matches where spectators had to stand and ended up leaving after set 1!

Bravo, Mr. Kelly. Not settling for non-competitive teams in any sport. In this conference, USF should be in the top half of the league in every sport, every year.

Tough to be at the top half when the vb facilities don't attract top talent.
