Awesome win but what the hell was this??
Let the kids storm the court.
I even saw the early ones get arrested?Big time fines for schools for letting students storm the court. The SEC fined Vandy $250K for doing it last year vs Tennessee. Not sure what the AAC policy is.

I really don't understand how we sold out. I'm happy for it. I just didn't think there were truly 10,000 basketball fans in all of Tampa.
I was skeptical. I originally couldn’t go tomorrow because of a commitment and gave my tickets to my son and his friend. My event got cancelled and I reached out to my ticket rep to see if he could scrounge together 2 for myself and my other son. His response was, “we are completely sold out, sorry”. Good for the program and fans, bad for me personally.

This is not the resume of a top 25 team:
South Fla. - 2024 NET Rankings and Quad Wins
BBALLNET.COM
2024 South Fla. Quad wins for NCAA College Basketball. NET rankings...You can’t lose to Maine and Central Michigan and expect anything good to come of that. There are 300+ teams and at least 100 other teams that have empirically and demonstrably performed better than USF thus far in the season. This team also hasn’t played many quality teams while many other teams do so on a day to day basis. That's a big factor and part of why this team isn’t ranked. While great by our standards, there are a lot of other teams that are better. Just win the conference tourney.
This is a great look at our path the east of the way. 2 Quad 1 games and 2 Quad 2 games. Obviously, win those games and the NET rises. But lose any of those Quad 3 or 4 games and the drop in NET is significant. The Maine, Central Michigan and Hofstra loses are killers in the grand scheme of the NET ranking.
Taking a Quick Look at Bracketology this morning and the last 4 in are Kansas St (74 NET), Boise St (56), Mississippi St (38), and Colorado (30). First four out: Nevada (51), TCU (29), Ole Miss (57), and Cincy (32). We currently sit at 116. Lots of work to do. I think even by winning out, our schedule strength simply won’t allow us to make up that much ground. Will getting to the Conference finals get it done? Who knows? Run the gauntlet to get there by beating 2 of the 3 Q1 teams, then maybe. There are only 36 at large bids to give out, so you’ve got to be pretty elite to get one.
Win the tourney and grab one of those 32 automatic bids and see what happens. Anyway, it’s actually fun to be at the games and watch this team right now. Enjoy the next 6 weeks of the regular season. Go Bulls!- 2

You are very likely the only person on the planet who has had both USF and Rhode Island season tickets.
Ha Ha! I’m sure you’re 100% correct on that one.

Hey All, I’ve been a lurker on the site since joining last August. The game on Saturday is the one that I was hoping was going to happen, I just didn’t realize this soon. My wife and I are both Rhody alums, we moved down here for her to take an Assistant Professor position at USF. I’ve had Rhody season tickets every year since I started as a student in 1991 up until the end of the 2019 season. Being a college basketball fan made the decision easy to grab USF hoops season tickets last year, and we went to every game and enjoyed the Yeungling Center with our family.
This years team is a great unknown with the graduations and transfer of Tyrese Martin (UConn) and Jacob Toppin (Kentucky). The team will live and die with the play of Fatts Russell. This kid is a pleasure to watch. Lightning fast, can hit the deep 3, and just an overall pest on defense. He had a pedestrian game against ASU on Wednesday with 4 fouls in the 1st half, and fouling out with 5:00 remaining. Fatts will drive the lane and has no fear being in there with the big guys, he’ll look to dish off to Antwan Walker or Jermaine Harris (foot injury, DNP against ASU), whom are the only returners who had an impact last season.
There are 8 newcomers to the team this year, including Jeremy Sheppard who threw down 19 against ASU. The Mitchell Twins, transfers from Maryland, are 6’10, and are hopeful to be big contributors as the season goes on. DJ Johnson and Jalen Carey, the Syracuse transfer, both showed that they can shoot the ball. Unfortunately, everyone is pretty much in the same boat with their respective teams, and as fans, don’t know too much yet. These early games can go either way as teams are trying to knock off the rust.
My hope in this game is for it to be a 1 or 2 OT thriller, with my Rams winning at the end.....Then I will back to cheering for the Bulls the rest of the way. Some Rhody info for you all:

I see CAAR’s coaching path as being similar to Dan Hurley. He had success at Wagner, but wasn’t being chased by any big name schools at that point. Rhode Island (I’m an alum) jumped on him, and led a 5 year rebuild, winning an A-10 title, going to 2 NCAA’s, with wins in each. UCONN, with their bigger conference and bigger budget swooped in and blew him away with more money, better facilities, and a thirsty for success fan base. 5 years in he wins an NCAA title.
Over the past few weeks, my wife and I have been talking about these similarities. Hopefully, USF can pony up some extra cash and perks to keep him around. I think all love what we’ve seen here this year and want more of it going forward
