  1. Give him 1 more year sans Gilbert then if he doesn’t deliver, escort him to retirement because this game has passed him by!  He has another “Bridgewater” in Barnett, but he has to adjust his offensive game plan to accommodate his players.  All good coaches do so.  If we don’t win big next year, my donations dry up and I am sure I am not alone!

I will go back to what I have said since the season started.  This coaching staff does not have a winning mentality.  A winning mentality would have started by understanding what your players' skill sets are and building both offense and defense around what you have.  These guys, even going back to last year, wanted to run their system, win or lose, regardless of what skill sets you have on the roster.  This is college, you cannot just trade or draft your team.  If he is just realizing that he has to go out and recruit the players for what he is trying to do here, it will be another thee years before those new players are in a position to win.

That is not necessary.  He had players on the roster that had been winners.

Not a winning mentality from anyone associated with this program right now.  Problems start with the philosophy and multiply from there.

You could not be more correct on your take here!

  3. UCF could have beaten us with a HS QB.  Our defense sucks and our offensive play calling and Off Coord are a joke.  UCF has become what we should have become 10 years ago had we not yielded to the demands of some “spoiled boosters who have since abandoned their donations”  to fire CJL. We would be perennial contenders in a Power 5 conference!

  4. i have a lot of negative opinions about what went on this season, but let me sum it up with this.  Gilbert has got to go! No ifs ands or buts about it!  He got CCS fired from TX and will get him fired from USF if he stays which is ridiculous because CCS is a better coach than USF.  If we shake up everything and fire CCS, then we set ourselves back 2yrs min.  We won our first 7 games off of luck, bubblegum and duct tape.  They were ugly at best and our offense struggled every game despite having superior athletes to most of the teams we played.  We could easily have been 2-10 on the season were it not for incredible luck. He throttled back last years offense to be mediocre and this year was almost unwatchable.  At the very least, just be fun to watch (which would be easy with minimal creativity and our skilled position athletes).  I would be fine with 7-5 every season if we played wide open offensively ( like Texas Tech).  That is entertaining and puts butts in the seats and brings in donations. This is embarrassing!  Take advantage of a drop back QB and our WR’s and Tight Ends.  The WR screen and HB dive is boring and predictable as ****!

This is what it's like to be USF. 7-0 to start and now on a 2 game losing streak (including a loss to the powerhouse that is a 3-5 Tulane team on our home turf in front of a near season low home crowd) and definitely out of contention for a conference title yet again... Go Bulls, you never cease to surprise..

Agree on all accounts here.  Hey Tampa, Show the “F” up to the games!  Our offensive coordinator may suck, but we were ranked and undefeated a week ago!

  6. To “all that want to criticize BB at QB”:

Realize that BB was a 5-star recruit as a pocket passer that was recruited by the best college coach and the best program in the country (Alabama). He miraculously ended up at USF following another “once in a lifetime non-power five conference” QB, Quinton Flowers.  Yet somehow our offensive coordinator, who got CCS fired at TX, has managed to not only make QF and our offense look pedestrian last year, but has failed to adjust his “plagiarized inferior Baylor offense” to the personnel that he has and has made a UsF team that should dominate the “non-power 5” look HORRENDOUS! #letsthrowanotherpass53yardsacrossthefieldwherethereceiverisnotevenpastthelineofscrimmageonsecondandfour

And this just in...... you have a really good tight end named Wilcox that you can use in your horrificly conservative offense and a 5’3” 145 lb super quick and athletic RB is probably not the best option in the red zone one 3rd and goal!

  7. Houston is getting throttled by SMU which will tell you how insignificant we are.  If you have watched us the last 2 years u realize that Sterlin Gilbert,  like USF, is a pretender not a contender. Sterlin got Charlie fired from Texas and is trending towards doing the same at USF. He has got to go!  He dumbed down last years offense so bad it was sickening! Last year and this year, we have the talent to be contenders. Gilbert has to go!
