That USF hat looks real nice in the middle of that group
I will lose it if he signs with us!

I wonder how many 3 stars they've attracted historically? How many do we have?
According to 24/7 it looks like:
FAU: 2016 -8 and 2015 -10
FIU: 2016 -6
USF 2016 -13 plus 2 4* signings
It's probably tough to say if this year is an indicator in that all three coaches just took over.

Just like there is a massive drop-off in recruiting talent from uf/fsu to usf, that same drop-off is just as big or bigger from usf to fau/fiu. They really aren't our competition...and if they are we may as well fold up shop. , w
Histrionically that has indeed been the case, but don't you think that Lane Kiffin and Butch Davis are going to dilute the recruiting pool?

If his connections help him get in with a kid he won't turn down an opportunity to pursue a talented player but I think he focuses on FL first. I think we see a bigger south FL flavor to our classes with Strong and Bell working their connections hard down there

7 minutes ago, JoeB said:No need to, more talent than we can sign each and every year. Plus many out of staters don't even know USF
All great points! We do have some more competition now with FIU and FAU. Scott Frost is also doing a good job it would appear, so I was curious as to your take. I also think my disparaging point of view in relation to Northeast weather (I'm from Pittsburgh), makes me bias toward thinking everyone would want to come to Florida!

I know Strong is deep seeded with the state of Florida, but do you foresee him recruiting out of state more than Taggart did?

2018 Areas of Need (in order)
1. LB
2. QB
3. DT
4. DE
5. RB
6. OL
Did you see the highlights for the RB, Bell, Jr? Looks small but can break tackles like crazy.

Kierston Johnson is also a LB
Ahh yes indeed.

Would have liked to have seen another LB. We only got 1, correct?
Yes we stole OLB/DE Jabreel Stephens from Louisville .

I think we'll be a consistent 25-40 class going forward with Charlie. If we can do this we should be able to dominate the AAC.
No question. He locked down defense this year in an impressive manner. I am confident next year will be big!!!

We easily could have been in their shoes. They lost a great, young coach and weren't able to gain any traction in recruiting after he left. It is a testament to what an incredible job Strong and Co. did in building this class.
great point!

What is going on?
Well now it looks like they have a total of 5 3* but still not very many.

We had 19 seniors on the roster. One being Tice, but Mack is leaving early, so that should mean, without any additional attrition, we at least had roster room for 19 players. Not sure how many scholarships we have available, but the roster space is certainly there.
What was the total?

What is going on with Temple? Yikes

Does signing the the three CC kids mean we will have both Rick Ross and Plies at our games now?

One, if not two of the Carol City boys (Culpepper and Thomas) could play corner rather than safety. Regardless, this secondary could be really, really good. Abraham, Watts, Dixon, McGee, Fullwood, Hudson and Jaymon already back there at safety with Nichols a lock a corner. Add in Culpepper, Thomas, and Roberts and there's going to be some interesting battles. There will definitely be some talent on special teams
I'm excited and think Strong has done a brilliant job ensuring the defensive players signed. If signing day ended right now I would be happy!
