Amazing the free fall our whole athletic department has fell into since Jim, the most powerful man on the campus, was booted.

He was still here we would be in a decent conference and able to recruit real players and put people in a crowd.  Now even if we run the table in our conference (??whatever its called again) we will only be mediocre and never be looked at seriously.  Such a sad story for USF sports.  Who wouldve known with all the complaining we did back then those were the glory days.  What a hose job.

Oh, you mean the AAC? Cuz the probability of being in a better conference if we never canned him would be very slim.

Hope you Leavitt haters are happy with the losses to UCF, the empty stadium, and the C-USA redux.

USF Admin thought they were the most important people in the football program.  Leavitt would have built a monster.

Just some light researching on Leavitt, and I came across this article from an OU perspective. Pretty good retrospective and comments from former players, would make me want to consider him as an AD...

"The success he had at South Florida, including at one point being ranked number two nationally, has not been anywhere close to repeated since his departure."

    Well that sentence hurts.

    Pretty much sums it up.

  4. Congrats to CJL but that's a bad situation.  McIntyre went 4-8 his first year and 2-10 this season, last in the division both years.  They're in a division with Arizona, ASU, USC, UCLA and Utah so they'll have to get really good just to finish 3d in that division.  Combine that with reportedly questionable facilities and recruiting at, or near, the bottom of the B12 (Nationally 70th- USF was 58) and Leavitt will be looking for a job next year.

Did questionable facilities hurt him at USF?  Dude had trailers.

My impression after talking to Ray Ray McCloud III: heart nagged him to go USF, head made sure he made right decision sticking w/Clemson.

Translation:  I would love to represent my hometown if they didn't play garbage teams in a garbage conference, run boring power plays with a spread team, and have no fan support in the Bucs stadium.  If there was anything exciting about USF football at all I would have signed, but there's not so I stuck with Clemson.
