  1. I will post this to say that Stan Heath is our best basketball coach at USF. Think about it!!!!! STAN FN HEATH almost got us to the SWEET 16!!! To me that means he is the best USF basketball coach, I watched that close loss to Cincy, I am proud of the recruits that Heath has brought to USF. Next season, we will be fine. GO BULLS!!!!!

    Moral victory #3,423

  2. Their stadium will look like FSU's when done.

Yes it will. On the west side the Roth Tower takes up most of the space and this brick facility will facade most of the East Side. There is another facility in the master plan that also will be built on the exterior facade of the Football Stadium when the funding is there. This huge donation will get this facility breaking ground this year. The advantage of having an On Campus Stadium is the flexibility to improve at the AD's pace.

No... it won't... unlike your wok, Doak has a much better angle to the seating... The 200 level seats in the erector set are so far from the action you need binoculars to see the game.

Google their addition and you see a third level that would be a steeper angle. Not sure why our fans bash their stadium, I for one would love to have it on our campus.

  3. Lots of stone throwing in a glass house in here...cut the kid a break, for crying out loud. There but for the Grace of God go most of us!

BS, speak for yourself. I never have smoked anything but a cigar. I knew many people who did smoke pot, just never knew someone with that much on them. There are many kids out there that would love to play football for the Bulls that will follow the law. I saw throw the trash out and get a team player in here.

  4. I want to make one thing clear. The USF academic committee has nothing to do with any NCAA rules.

The NCAA has a minimum threshold, if a kid clears it, the NCAA is good. USF has a much higher standard, and that is what the committee is looking at.

I also think coaches get a certain number of "skips"

Let me guess, Stan and Jose might get 1 each year and Willie might get 3. Thus allowing a kid who meets the NCAA standard, but not the USF standard, to get into USF. This is for the sake of competitiveness. You better believe the skips are saved for the best recruits.

The first 2 lines of this post are facts. The next two lines are my best guess.

Shouldn't we call them "Jim's" instead of "Skip's"?

  5. We have a better market and better athletic revenues than UCF.  Though not by much on either account.

If they can snowball their BCS game into pushing their revenues substantially in front of ours, then they have a case to be clear cut front runners.  Otherwise we're still in a good position, but we need to continue to out hustle them even in our down years.

Have the schools released 2013 yet. I have a hard time believing our sub 20,000 attendance this year would hold that to be true.

  6. An update and clairification....

You guys can believe me or not. I went to USF, graduated in 03 with a major in poli sci, lived in beta hall first year then Fontana. I love the bulls, have been to a ton of games since undergraduate and work at a small law firm in Tampa. I normally lurk, this is the first time I have info... And to be clear, I HATE UCif....

On to the news- talked to my buddy, here is some further background:

    - there are indeed NCAA infractions being looked into for MBB, but they are nothing major.

    - this put DW on the hot seat, but wasn't a fireable offense.

    - the Disney school is indeed in talks w b12 but nothing is final yet.

    - USF got wind because DW had an unofficial agreement with the Orlando School that we would be a package deal. The other day UCif called them and told them the deal was off, blaming it on the NCAA infractions.

    - when BOT found out about the broken agreement + infractions + b12, they had enough with DW.

    - this isn't out yet bc B12 and ucifers have kept it tightly under wraps. USF admin, now that they know, have no such obligation.

    - there is more out there, but my friend doesn't know yet....

    BS

  7. I doubt it but I can see why the are favorable. UCF has won 10, 11 and 12 games in the past four seasons. They have good facilities and solid fan support. My brother is a high school coach in Georgia and says Tyler Harris is the real deal and with their WR's won't miss a beat.

As I said, doubt the big 12 wants them but they look much better than we do.

Ghost of the past is also a ucf troll 95 percent of his posts have been about UCIF and Bortles. Got caught red handed son. Now move along back to Disney college.

Seriously, I'm the one who says Bortles is overrated. He thre for 300 yards in the fiesta bowl but two of those passes were screen plays that went for over 100 yards. That is why I say a good QB recruit will do well because they have very good receivers.

I don't need to prove anything to you.

Yeah, UCF is suddenly attractive because of a quarterback recruit who hasn't even set foot on campus yet and because they won a bunch of games against sorry-ass competition (including this year's AAC). Right.

Youre being short sighted. They have won everywhere they have played, us, not so much. Make fun of their tin can stadium but other schools understand what that means to have. Also, say what you want but their President is viewed very favorably in athletic circles. More than anything, they had great tv ratings in Orlando this year, that is a powerful thing to show.

Can you read? I said I doubt they would go but could see how they are much more attractive than us.

Winning and losing have nothing to do with anything. See: Rutgers, losers in the Big 10. See: Boise State, big winners, still on the outside looking in. Pitt haven't won **** lately, Syracuse ditto, both are now in the ACC.

And UCF's TV ratings were decent in the Orlando market specifically, but nationwide? Not so much. It's going to take more than a single season of a few games getting decent ratings to make them attractive.

UCF isn't going to the Big XII, and that's pretty much the end of it. Believe they are if you want, but time will prove you wrong.
