As a fan, a college football fan do I see this as a little bit over the top? Probably yeah.
But as a fan an American Athletic Conference team I can see this as a type of protest to the current college football system. I see this as a big f*** you to the committee. The committee that has treated the "g5" like an extension of the FCS for years. The college football championship should be determined by a team's current year talent, resume and consistency -- not by TV revenues and reputation alone.
What the college football committee has right now is definitely not the best solution and this is an opportune moment for the AAC to start a serious conversation about it.

You beat 2 teams with a winning record (from the american), congrats.
And you thrived in the same conference environment. Just doing what we can with what we are given.

We extended our series with FIU, not sure why but we did

UCF alumni here and as we all know the week is finally here. Ultimately I just hope that we have a good game and having family/friends who are alum of USF I do hope that fans (at the stadium) of both sides can keep it classy and enjoy the game as it should be enjoyed.
After reading through the thread I can totally understand how same may feel that there is no call for the term 'rivalry' and given our past games where we have been dominated, I can also sympathize with USF choosing to make it so that we no longer played. Back in the day, if we beat USF, it was a huge jump kick for us but in the end it was only you guys who had something to lose (given your records and being in a better conf.) so that makes sense. As it stands now though, given the fact that we are in the same conference and both located in Central Florida I think it would be nice to have some kind of, even if not official, rivalry to look forward to each you when we face off. The season, as I am sure you can agree, has not gone as either sides I am sure expected ( I for one was not expecting UCF to be where it is now but am stoked) and figure that if anything, we can start a new tradition to look forward for in the future. I understand that in your minds UCF is not the same as UM/FSU but with our push now and with what I presume will be better recruitment for UCF hopefully it can grow to be some sort of rivalry that everyone can enjoy.
Have a happy Thanksgiving and looking forward to a nice turn out and great game on Friday. Charge On!
Quality post.

There are certain situations when this may perceived as 'ethical'.Somehow being consoled by a UCF fan feels dirty. It's like sleeping with a friends ex-girlfriend. Morally it should be fine, but you really know it's wrong.
For example: Did he dump her? Is he with someone new? or is she willing and above an 8?
Cheers.

As a UCF fan, I can say I am confident you will find the footing you are used to in a few years (maybe less).
We were winless the first year O'leary came around and he received a huge amount of criticism. Why? Because he pretty much hammered in a new style of play to a group of student athletes that were not accustomed to it.
The next year was followed by an 8 win season.
It completely sucks to have this kind of season, but I feel as if bulls fans should not be too concerned on the future of the program. USF (and UCF for that matter) have plenty of resources and advantages over many programs.

If USF beat Houston, us and Memphis and then Auburn in the peach bowl I would 100% support the claim. As much as it would pain me to. I would support any "G5" in our situation.
I'm surprised Danny White has the balls to outright say it. It's bold and polarizing - perfect for grabbing attention to the situation.
This system is bogus for most of the teams "eligible".
