All time leader in assists at USF. He is my favorite player that i have watched, although i know i'm going to love watching Collin Dennis for the next 3 years and change.

He left it all on the floor for Greenberg's teams. However, Atkins helped his team win a couple of post season games with arguably 'less' talent. These two guys are miles above anybody else who has played at USF.
Guest S. Bien Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 You had to watch Atkins to really understand what he brought. My goodness the guy is playing in the NBA and the other two were never close to NBA material.Kohn was a warrior, as Cyber said Reggie left it on the court. What he lacked in athleticism he made up in headiness, and toughness. His injuries really prevented us from seeing the best of Reggie his final two years.Swift has had an amazing senior year. This is what many of us were expecting from him for years. However Atkins brought an intangible to the Bulls that no one expected, it was speed. The guy was fast as lightning on the court, and he would press that ball up the court so fast that often he was down the court before the opponents could set their defense. Atkin's amazin speed prevented teams from keying on opponents and he was able to score so many transition buckets or assist on transition buckets with his up tempo pressing style of offense. Swift, and Kohn played within the game, they are/were key components of the offense but they didn't/don't make the offense tick like Chucky did. Again, like Cyber said, Chucky's style allowed us to win many games that we were often far less talented then the opponent because of his speed, dribbling and shooting. I remember him once taking an in-bound pass after the opponent scored, dribbling it so fast up court past the opposing PG and the opponents post players, and in for a lay-up before the other team set in their defense. It went from what looked like a half-court set to a fast break lay-up as Chucky just blew past everyone on the court. He use to do that all the time. That was Chucky and why he's playing in the NBA. He has a dynamic to his game that is and was unequalled. I love all three, but Chucky could change the flow of the game with his abilities the other two never had that ability. They had to wait for their opportunities come to them instead of creating them like Chucky.

Not only would he beat the defense for easy lay ups but his ability to beat the D upcourt also led to a lot of spot up 3's from the top of the arc. He really was a good shooter, to me just as good as Swift. Chuck was also clutch, he hit a lot of big baskets for us, more so than the other two. (Well except for those FT's in the NIT....)

To bad he had all the off-court problems. I watched Marvin make more clutch shots in the waining moments of games it was incredible. Now if you are talking a career at USF it has to go to Chucky. He had us sooo close to the final four of the NIT it still hurts. How far in the basket can a ball go without going in ? Those that saw it will never forget that free throw.

My favorite player to ever wear the green & gold. Solid contributor all 4 years.3) Swift - much improved this year. Love is determination to score, just wish we'd seen him develop more before his last year.

From his freshman year as a PG to his senior year as a go to SG.One of the harderst workers and greatest guys ever to step on the floor for USF. And that is not to take away anything from RK, Swift or any other Bulls player.
