several times they appeared to be ready to break one and a backer/safety would run their guy down.  this team will not be easy to score big on, esp if offense can run the ball successfully.

This.  Let's not forget that the game was not over until we recovered the onside.  Even with no timeouts, I still think that with a couple plays towards Floyd they could have gotten into FG range.  Plus Rees was on target the whole 2nd half.  He's by far a better QB than Crist.

Except for the INT...and a few incompletions where he had open receivers...

Rees has a much better pace of play and the ball gets there quicker, thus allowing a better completion percentage.  Crist had a couple of open receivers that did not get completions because the defense got there before the ball.  Rees will be a better QB than Crist, but Rees still has work to do.  He should, of course, being a true freshman.

Can't be a true freshman ... I believe he started, and won, their last 4 games last year.

there were several plays where there was one guy to beat and that guy made the play to save a touchdown.

Or was chased down.  I agree our speed was big, but size was their advantage.  Per Holtz saying we played a soft zone, shows you why they were able to get 507 yards of offense on us, but when the field was shortened  the seem to have problems (red-zone).

Our composure was impressive, and we just let them make mistakes from the pressure.
