The Contest:  Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to select the winner for the week's USF football game - as well as make some tie-breaking prognostications.  Prizes await, as does the respect and admiration of Bulls fans worldwide.

First...the rules:

1)  You must be a registered member of this message board.

2)  You must completely answer the contest questions.

3)  Post must be submitted prior to published game start time.

4)  There can be no modifications to your post after the published game start time.

5)  Your prediction must be part of this original thread.

And now, the contest:

For the Bulls game against Notre Dame Saturday, September 3, please select the following:

1)  The winning team

2)  The final score

3)  Bulls leading rusher

4)  Bulls leading receiver

5)  Bulls total offensive yards (closest without going over)

Please try to keep in the above format so that it will be easier to manage.  Sample response would be:

After posting your entry, please feel free make your case for your picks, or predict other aspects of the game.  It will make the thread much more entertaining if everyone gives their reasons for their picks, and make predictions on other aspects like special teams, rushing, or which QB will get the most PT.

The winner will be decided with the first and second prediction items.  I am looking for the person that comes closest to the actual score, not simply the margin of victory.  If more than one person is correct, or equally close, we'll go to item three.  Closest wins.  If still tied, we go to item four - if still tied, item 5.  After that, whoever gives the best reasoning, and pre-game analysis wins.*

I would say the score would be lower for both sides, but I feel that there will be some TD's coming together late.  I think the score will be low going into half time.

I don't see us moving the ball that well.  I think this game comes down to special teams and defense for USF (safe pick).  IMO, I think it will be a pretty sloppy game (granted I am sure we will come out "ready to play").

BJ is an obvious choice for most rushing yards, but I feel that Kelly is ready for that and contains the edges and spies BJ.  I think Murray plays the first couple of series, but Scott comes in like Ford did and breaks some nice runs.

WR is a tough one.  I went with Landi, because that seems to be BJ's go to guy when facing tough D's.  I wanted to put AJ, but am not really sure how he will play first game back.  I am sure we will see some screens early, with some decent yac (Lamar and TRex), but I have a feeling that Sheilds and Virgin will be big options (I think this year we will see more of the transition into that true hybrid TE option that we saw flashes of last year).  I would love to see Sterling, Lamar, or T-Rex catch some bombs; but I don't see that happening until late in the game if at all.

I can't wait to see how wrong I am..
