Ads on this site

Does anyone know how to turn the ads off on this site? They pop up and they are loud. Much appreciated.

Agreed, there are new ads popping up that cannot be turned off until after 12 seconds or so, and they are loud and eat bandwidth.

They just started recently. 

Wish I knew how to turn them off as well.

Same here.

Split videos popping up for the past few days, apparently from ad choices, blocking posts on the page are the most annoying thing ever on this site. Brad is probably unaware that it is even happening, because he would not allow that if he knew.

I use the Flashblock Extension in Firefox - never see 'em

Regarding the ads, there are no pop-ups or pop-unders allowed on this site.  I will alert the advertiser to turn those off.  I've had to do it before.

I hope, in the meantime, you'll bear with the ads.  Because of them, we'll be able to purchase better software for the board as well as completely fund the server costs when we move to a new server.

Thanks for the update Brad.  I realize we need to pay for the site, and the banner ads are fine.  Just that these are above annoying.  And I'm using IE and have popups turned off.

IE is terrible, make the switch to FF or Chrome. I use FF 5.0 with adblock plus and never see a single add on this website EVER not even pop ups. It does an amazing job blocking ads on sites all over the internet.

+1.  When I use IE on another computer and visit sites I frequent I don't recognize them because of all the ads.
