Mike Mangold

Mike Mangold DE/LB supposedly left UF according to some message board posts. Evidently, he has some kind of learning disability, and UF wanted him to redshirt so he could concentrate on his academics.

I wonder if he'll end up playing for USF, since we previously recruited him. He was a teammate of Danny Verpaele at Merritt Island.

I went up aganist Mangold and he can play.  Hope for the best with this kid.

He'd have to sit out here a year, just like sitting out a year at UF, right?

Did he leave because he was angry?  Is he going to I-AA?

I like USF's chances if he calls, and we pursue.  He's tight with the Verpaele's and with both brother's playing and coaching, plus Danny already starting as a freshman that could bode real well for Mike.

He'd have to sit out a year if he went to FAU, or FIU now, and his other big school is Vtech, where his Uncle is the AD.  However he's tight with his family, and having the entire Verpaele Family in Tampa should be just the ticket.  

We'll see, but it could be a good sign.  He could play LB, or DE.

Yes he can play ball, don't worry about his school potential.  Are you guys reading what your write.  That is sad.  This kid has issues and UF wanted to help him so he leaves the team.  He should not be in college with that attitude.

Yeah, like UCF would turn Mangold down if he wanted to play for them.  :

If he did leave UF maybe it's because they promised they wouldn't red-shirt him when he was recruited and are just using his learning problem as an excuse for doing that.

Even if he has some kind of disability, it doesn't mean people should just give up on him. Maybe some other University could provide him with more support.

You'd think this sort of thing would have been discovered before, not after, signing and enrolling in a university.
