Time to give some credit.....as I was definitely one to criticize last week.....

The offense played to its strength tonight. It controlled the clock, ran the ball, threw some screens, and basically let Julmiste have a little time to look around and find guys wide open. I was puzzled on some of the play calling, but overall, it was a well called game.

It was better, but there is room for improvement.  Now, if only the Bulls can cut down the number of mental mistakes that lead to penalties, players and coaches!

How about running something, anything on first down besides a run up the middle.  All we saw was 2nd and 9 or 2nd and 7 which put us in the hole and forced us to come thru on 3rd and long.  A good defense won't allow us to make those 3rd and longs.

Although I will say that the call on 4th and 6 to Hall in the endzone worked like a charm.  Wonder how long they've been holding that one?

hard to run wide on a blitzing defense

hard to stand and throw on a blitzing defense

runs up the middle works and gives defense rest

i personally liked the playcalling on first down

They went man on the receivers most of the night... we ate them up on that when we weren't getting sacked. I don't know how much USM will place 8-in the box like TCU (alot of times TCU had no safety whatsoever begging us to beat them deep on 1st down!), but if we keeping running straight up the middle, it's going to be a long Saturday night in Tampa!

I questioned a lot of the short passes we called prior to the 4th quarter on third down. You don't always have separation and can't expect a receiver to make a play after each catch.

I give Hobbie a B- for the game. At times, he looked like an offensive genius. At other times, he was inept and had us in the stands going insane. Talking to USF fans at halftime was not fun.

Pat... B+. He bailed us out by scrambling like a champ and making clutch throws. He might be to the point where he isn't looking over his shoulder thinking about being yanked. He still has to connect better on the short balls. As much as Andre Hall dropped a very catchable pass in OT which would have gone for six, Pat still throws a lot of his passes towards a players feet. If you get that ball up to Andre's chest... his moves are electric and he makes something with it!

My game ball goes to SJ Green. Came up with big reception after big reception on third down. He played a great game and just constantly beat down the DB's out there.

I'd have to give game ball to Gipson. The blocked fg was a game saver, IMO.................especially felt good for him after week he had.

It's not hard to throw quick slants at all on a blitzing defense.  If we had run quick slants we would have been picking up 7 or more yards instead of 1.  Yeah run the ball up the middle on 1st down, but not every time.

How can you not give Andre Hall the game ball? He is the spark that ignigted the offense. He is the one with the TD's and I hope he will relegate Crossley to a mop up role. He is the USF player (playmaker) of the week without a doubt.
