HENRY'S AILMENT FINALLY CLEARED UP

Browns CB is suffering from vertigo.

Browns cornerback Anthony Henry, who was said to have a concussion in last Sunday's game in Dallas, is actually suffering from vertigo.

He remains questionable for Sunday's game against the New York Giants.

Henry, who had interceptions in each of the Browns' first two games, is backed up by Michael Lehan at left cornerback.

"Anthony feels good most of the time," Browns coach Butch Davis said. "They equate it to being sea sick. You can be perfectly fine and then all of the sudden, you throw up. Doctors have no idea how you get it or get rid of it. He could come out here tomorrow and be in mint condition."

He was listed on the injury list as having a concussion.

"I didn't say that," Davis said. "There's no medicine for it. Sometimes it's viral."

The malady occurs in the inner ear and affects a person's balance.

Here's to hoping they figure out how to help him. He's a good NFL player, and seems to be a good guy.

Vertigo is not an easy illness to recover from.  My mom came down with it last January and she still gets dizzy and has neck pain as a result of it.  She couldn't do ANYTHING but sit with her head perfectly still for 3 months.... that isn't something i'd wish on my worst enemy.  Have to sleep sitting up, can't lean... the world spins around you and you feel like you are going to fall over even when you are perfectly straight up.  Darkness triggers vertigo spells as well.  

It usually lasts a couple weeks but can last years.   I hope his is mild and goes away fast... it can be career ending!

Oh man, I had vertigo a little over a year ago. Not fun stuff.  And there aint much worse than going to the doctors and them telling you "yah, we can do **** and it may last several months or could be gone tommorrow".  I had to call in sick to work several days and pretty much spent them in bed not moving at all.  Luckily mine only lasted two weeks, but shiznitz, it was an extremely frustrating and annoying two weeks. I hope Ant gets better.

My Dad has been fighting it for years. His overall health is not very good, and they kinda dismissed it to some of the medications he is on - even though he doesn't feel it was the case.

It took away the one thing he really enjoyed - and, that was golf.

ant went to my high school a couple years before i did but i remember sitting in the coach's office during my senior year 2000, when ant was a star up here at usf and sittin there with one of Ant's good buddies Anthony Dixon who played at Marshall with Randy Moss for a couple years but had to come back to estero and take a coaching job cause things didnt work out...but Ant Henry was a very well centered human being and this is when its just 4 people sitting in a room and i was just a high schooler with no idea that Ant Henry would go on to the NFL.  he was drivin a old toyota with a USF plate.  nice to see good things happen to good people.  i hope he pulls thru and still makes some pro bowls.  i have never witness anyone work harder than he does.

I get temp vertigo when I fly. For about a week then it goes away...luckily.

Hmmm...then I guess you and I use the same physician.  "It  may never happen again, or it may pop up from time to time."   I had a bout of this last year. There's nothing you can do but ride it out.  However, I am more conscious about some of the things I do that could possibly bring about another round...I can't imagine trying to play football. 8)
