Guest HowieP1 Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 More on Harris from his Coach at DCCC: • Harris, 6-2, 225 pounds, underwent culture shock when he came to Dodge City from Miami, Fla. He had signed a national letter of intent with Miami U. out of Edison high school, but didn't make it there because of personal problems. "He has such a quick first step," said Dodge City Coach John Rossetti. "He's just so good at the edge blitz, like Lawrence Taylor was." Rossetti says Harris is being pursued in a big way by Michigan State; Florida State has offered a free ride and Kansas State, Iowa and Iowa State are also in the picture... http://www.gcccks.edu/Athletics/fb/index.htm

The Bulls called Dodge City Community College in Kansas on Tuesday, trying to land a visit with linebacker Nate Harris.Harris signed with Miami in 2002 but was arrested days before graduation and spent three months in jail after he was found guilty of being a lookout in an armed robbery. Dodge City coach John Rossetti, who sent defensive tackle Antonio Searcy to USF last year, said Harris has been a model athlete."He's a good kid, and I know we've never had any problems with him at all," he said.Harris has scheduled visits to Louisville, Kansas State, Michigan State and Nebraska but is considering the Bulls for his final campus visit.http://www.sptimes.com/2004/11/10/Sports/Leavitt_mourns_man_wh.shtmlRivals ranks him #2 JUCO LB (#10 JUCO overall) and has given him 4 stars:http://rivals100.rivals.com/viewrank.asp?SID=880&Year=2005&ra_key=1051Speaking of Top Juco recruits, note #2 JUCO RB (#23 JUCO overall) Eldra Buckley has USF among his favorites.
