Has been to the post-season 7 of the 9 years he has been there.135-83 overall recordFive trips to the NCAA tourny.Four top 20 recruiting classes1998-99 - 23-11 (C-USA Tournament Champs, NCAA 2nd Round) 1999-00 - 17-16 (NIT) 2000-01 - 22-11 (C-USA Tournament Champs, NCAA 2nd Round) 2001-02 - 18-12 (NCAA Tournament) 2002-03 - 13-16 2003-04 - 21-9 (C-USA Regular Season Co-Champs, NCAA Tournament) 2004-05 - 21-8 (NCAA Tournament) 2005-06 - 19-13 (NIT) --The major reasons he stays in Charlotte are 1.) UNCC is his alma-mater.2.) Has a 14 and 16 year old -- can't imagine him wanting to move with them at that age.
Guest BasketBull. Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 I second the nomination. He's a perfect fit for us.http://www.allcoachnetwork.com/lutz/main.html

Not a name recruits flock to and not a name that will draw fans.

I don't think there's a name out there even remotely available that would bring in fans on name alone.

I think we need to go out and get someone who has some axe to grind or something to prove... someone who was let go from a place that he was successful and then let go..
Guest 1Bullsfan Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Bob Huggins aka Huggies would have brought people to the Sun Dome...even though his players wouldn't be there for graduation. ;D

Karl Hobs - George Washington - Young and has been associated with the Big East before.  He would probably love to battle UConn.2. Chris Lowery - So Illinios - Young and ready to build a career in a top conference3. Scott Sutton - Oral Robers - see a trend....another young hard worker4. Jeff Bzdelik - Air Force - very experiened.  Great X & O's but probably wants to go back to the NBA.5. Best available coach fired after a first round loss in this year's NCAA'sMy wish list:1. Anthony Grant - Wanted him as the #1 choice 4 years ago and that hasn't changed2. Mark Gottfried after he gets fired from Alabama (may not happen until next year though)3. Todd Lickliter - Would love to have him on board but he's got it too good at Butler and will be looking much higher than USF.4. Reggie Theus - Former NBA'er but the buyout will not allow it to happen.5. Steve Alford after he gets fired from Iowa - A man can dream right. There are several others that would make me happy like Steve Lavin. There are only a few I wouldn't be excited about, Bobby Lutz and Ralph Willard, come to mind as aging guys who don't have the drive to turn around a program and stick around for 10 years.
