Will Alton Voss play QB?

I hear rumors on here that he might switch to safety.  Now that he's with us, will he play QB and back up grothe?  watching film on him, it seems as if he runs our offense to a "T", but then again that was in high school.  The film shows that his arm was kinda pathetic, and he was more of a dink-and-dunk type qb when he did have to pass.  not much mustard on it.  anyways, does anyone have any predictions on his future?

I'm sure he'll get a shot at QB.  Just remember, a lot of people questioned Grothe's arm strength last year.

I see Voss as being redshirted this year, but given the opportunity to go in for a series or 2 during the year.  He is likely to be the back up QB in 2008 to Grothe and then take over (if his game is as good as predicted) when Grothe goes to the NFL.   LOL

I would expect Voss to RS in 2007 and work at QB . . .

Then depending on Gregory and 2008 QB RecruitS . . . may the best man win.

A lot of schools wanted him at Saftey which is why USF was so attractive to him. As a result I expect him to get a shot at Qb before moving him.

I dont think he has the arm to be effective at the college level.  If you watch film from this year of Grothe he has a MUCH stronger arm  and is extremely more accurate than Voss and Voss throws a  ugly ball for the lack of a better word.  I dont know much about QB throwing mechanics once you get past the basics and maybe our coaches can work with him and change some stuff mechanically to get more zip and accuracy on his passes, but in the end i think he ends up at safety once all is said and done.
