After 4 games, Knox has taken the second most shots on the team (39). Miguel has taken the most shots (52). Knox has taken the most 3s (18), which is more than Youngblood (17), Miguel (16), and Placer (13). Knox has also logged more minutes than anyone else on the team. Here are some stats on Knox:

FG% - 28%

3P% - 11% (2-18)

FT% - 57%

I would like to add that Miguel is shooting 39% from the field and has taken to most shots by far of anyone on the team. He is also a career 27% 3pt shooter.

So, why is CAAR not designing plays to get his best shooters the ball for shots? Youngblood and Placer have a 3-4 year proven track record of shooting and scoring, much better than Knox or Miguel. So why is he ignoring this simple fact? You want to win? Get your best shooters the ball. Knox should not be leading this team in minutes and 3s taken or second most in shots taken. Risking the success of this season to get his brother committed to the Bulls is not justified, in my opinion.

This team performs better if it gets the best shooters the ball, not the worst shooter. They perform better if you vary your offense to your opponent and utilize the talent you have in your bigs.

We have bigs? I think we only have one center on our roster, and full disclosure I did look at the size of our other guys. I haven’t followed basketball in a couple seasons. For some reason I feel like basketball might take longer to get there, despite only needing a couple good players to turn things around.

When I say bigs, I am referring to our players 6'8" and taller. In addition to Tobiloba, we have 2 players at 6'10". I don't think Ogunleye is good. Corey Walker (6'8") has demonstrated that he can score in the post. So, that is 4 players that could have been effective down low against a short Maine squad. If I am not mistaken, your highest percentage shots are the ones closer in to the basket.

We went 2-20 and 1-17 in two games from deep. Somebody tell me that we would not have gotten many more points with the same attempts down low.

Thanks for the insight and update.

Sounds like the team fell in love with the shot they could not make. Coaches need to remind players to get into the flow of the game and hit shots from around the floor to get going. Especially if “their spot” isn’t falling for them.

Defense sounds like an issue. If you have size you need to position and direct your opponent on the floor. Speed can hurt, but with the right scheme you can mitigate some of that pain. Also, dominating the boards should help. Hopefully they figure out what they want to run and how to utilize the players we have.

The older brother played in the NBA, the younger brother will play in the NBA, and we get the brother who shoots 28%. Sounds about right.

FAU just barely escaped with a close win against Butler, who shot 47% vs FAU's 32% from deep. Butler shot 77% from FT line vs 66% for FAU. So, how did Butler lose with those stats?

FAU you hit 63% (26-41) of their 2Pt field goals. FAU's center, Goldin, scored 19 on 6 FG attempts and 14 FT attempts. In their loss to Bryant, he scored 7 on 7 FG attempts and 2 FT attempts.

Simple, increase the number of high percentage shots, score more points.

they tried to go to walker in the post plenty against maine. it was not effective at all. rewatch the game.

Not sure if he is using kobe's minutes to lure his brother but that family is like the ball family where the dad needs complete control of the situation.

the dad has been on the TC bench for years and was the defacto head coach that made sure his kids were the focus.

now all we need is a 7'1" russian who is adept at the pick and roll. a rim runner

FAU shot 26 threes per game  last year

BTW our 6'8" post player wasn't going to be effective against their 6'10" post defender.
