At the end of the first half Ill had the ball with a couple minutes to go. My son-in -law was happy to see USF call time out to try to get the ball back. I suggested that we let the clock run and get into the locker room. They punted, we got the ball back, turned it back over and Ill kicks a FG.

At the end of the game when we are holdin on to that 6 pt lead I asked him if he'd be feeling better without that extra 3 points up there.

So, just looking for some discussion on that last couple of minutes of the first half. Are you happy the way we played it or are some that agree with me that we should gave gotten off the field asap.

I had no problems with calling TO's to get the ball back. Although this was the one where Wilcox I think has it go off his hands. Still think you have to try to score if you have the timeouts with this offense.

I also thought briefly that the Illinois defender was going to take it back, think Eric Mayes makes the TD saving tackle on the sidelines.

Getting the ball back and scoring in a hurry has been our MO. I like the strategy.

I’d much rather us be aggressive than play not to lose.

Usually I am very critical of time management at the end of a half or game.

I had no problems at all with the way the coaching managed the clock. Calling time out to get the ball back was correct.

I could be wrong here, but I think this was the punt with the block in the back. (Ridiculous call from what I saw).

Anyway, we started on the 8. Initially Strong was content to run out the clock, which again was correct. However, we broke a few pretty long plays which put us in very good field position so nothing wrong with going to points on the board.

Only mistake was trying to force the pass. Instructions to Barnett should have been if it is not wide open don’t take any chances tuck and run or throw it away.

I had no gripes with that sequence at all
