Bye Week Dream

I would love for this law to be placed on the books.  (Disclaimer - I know it won't happen.  Forgive my attempt at legalese):

Until such time in which the University of South Florida (USF) and/or the University of Central Florida (UCF) are members of one of the, "Power 5" (P5) conferences, the University of Florida (UF) and Florida State University (FSU) are required to play, on an alternating basis, USF or UCF in a home and away series.  Once the home and away series is completed, then UF and FSU would alternate to a home and away series with the school not played in the prior series, ad infinitum.

Additionally, USF and UCF are required to play, on an alternating basis, Florida Atlantic University (FAU) or Florida International Univeristy (FIU) in a home and away series.  Once the home and away series is completed, then USF and UCF would alternate to a home and away series with the school not played in the prior series, ad infinitum.

I don't think USF wants to play FIU after the stunt they pulled with the Indiana game a few years ago. It's one thing to not play because you don't want to risk a loss to a team on a lower tier than you. It's another when the other school's administration stabbed you in the back to rob you of a P5 opponent.

I understand that.  UF doesn't want to play us at Ray Jay either.  I worded it the way I did because if we're asking for UF and FSU to play us, we have to be willing to play FAU and FIU.

Cool dream.  It would be pretty cool if it happened.  Until USF gets a law school (since most state legislators are lawyers) and a journalism school (so that we have alumni support in the press) it's a pretty big dream.

Needless to say, it would boost attendance, and bring a whole lot more attention to the program...at least for one week a year...than we'd normally get. Love the idea, even with us having to play FAU/FIU once a year. Will it ever happen though? I doubt it.

It would be awesome the schedules hopefully would at least look like this:

Year 1

Home - FAU/FIU, 4 AAC games, P5 team, G5 team

Away - UF/FSU, 4 AAC games

Year 2

Home - UF/FSU, 4 AAC games, G5 team

Away - FAU/FIU, 4 AAC games, P5 team

I think it's a great idea, and would be great for all Florida G5 schools. It would give us a bump in SOS as well, except maybe this year.
