GAME DAY vs Huskies

Coming off its first loss in 372 days, ending a then nation-leading 12-game win streak, USF will head to UConn for a game that was previously scheduled for Sept. 9 but was postponed due to Hurricane Irma. The Bulls have won five straight games vs. UConn, including the last two in East Hartford, but, other than a 42-27 victory in Tampa last year, the series has been very close with the previous nine games prior to 2016 decided by an average of just 4.7 points. USF is 17-4 in AAC games over the last three seasons and has won four straight AAC road games.

RANKED: USF is ranked for a school record 14th consecutive week and is one of three teams in The American to appear in the Top 25:. No. -/23 USF, No. 15/14 UCF (7-0) and No. 22/21 Memphis (7-1).

SENAT IS HOT: SR DT Deadrin Senat has been rolling the last four games, averaging 7.75 tackles per game over that span and is coming off career highs of 12 tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks against Houston.

FLOWERS REACHES 10K: Quinton Flowers reached 10,000 career total offense yards (10,003) in the loss to Houston, just the fourth USF player to achieve the mark and 872 yards shy of the school record. With a season-best 325 yards passing vs. UH, he now has 6,789, just shy of becoming just the 7th FBS player to post 7,000 passing and 3,000 rushing yards on a career. His 39 rushing TD also have him on the cusp of becoming just the 12th player to post at least 50 passing TD (58) and 40 rushing TD (39) on a career. His 97 total TD responsible for are a USF record.

MOST SUCCESSFUL ERA: USF’s 25 wins over 30 games mark the winningest period in program history and among the top marks nationally over that period.

Let’s see how much CCS and staff trust this team. If he turtles there’s no trust and these last couple of games might suck. But if they open it up a little it could bode well.
