I saw we were 2nd last year too, 2nd straight year ahead of UCF and FSU? Hopefully those sites that start ranking colleges stop leaving us so far behind FSU.

Other institutions have better 4-year/6-year graduation rates.

No excuses for USF.

How could it possibly take 34% of students longer than 6 years to complete a 4 year degree???

All kinds of reasons.  My first thought was that 66% is higher than I would have expected.  But I'm not sure how that number was calculated.  Is that 66% graduated within six years of first enrolling?  Does that include dropouts?  Transfers?

If USF has more students working full time while working on their degree, that is a pretty good explanation.  Some people have real lifes to deal with.

USF’s six-year graduation rate continues to climb, up from 63 to 66 percent.

Wow, this still seems way too low.

USF achieved a 6 percent increase in the number of students graduating without excess hours.

This is the school's fault how? This is dependent on the student already knowing what they want to do upon matriculation. You can't penalize or reward an entire school based on the frivolity of the 18-year-olds who sign up. This would be like penalizing a track team if a runner switches from the 100 to the 440.

The whole excess hours thing is incredibly stupid.  Penalize a student for getting more educated?  That is a dumb number cruncher thought process.

It appears that the national average is in the mid 50s for a 6 year graduation rate.  UF and FSU are higher, but USF isn't necessarily awful in comparision to the country as a whole.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
