At least UCF can beat bad teams. Taggart can't even do that, and has never shown he could.

At this point in time, GOL is a much better coach. Our teams have similar talent and if Taggart was any good would have been playing UCF for the conference championship.

2 straight years we crush UCF in turnovers and end up losing. That is a huge sign we are a very bad team. Any average offense would have beaten UCF the last two games the way the defense played.

We cant? We beat every losing team on our schedule and went winless against every school with a .500 record or better.
.500 or better that included wins over the same teams we beat, as well as FCS schools here and there. This whole conference is bad teams beating worse teams. Edited by Gismo

Look, we all want to win. Period. Against good and bad teams. We want rankings year end and conference championships. It'll come, hopefully sooner than later.

Bianchi's articles are being run in papers outside Orlando and spreading that image.

"Isn't it amazing how this seven-year switch has occurred; how the direction of these two programs have completely shifted since 2007? At the time of USF's 64-12 victory, former coach Jim Leavitt's Bulls were knocking on the door of the big-time. They were in a major conference — the now-defunct Big East — and ranked No. 5 in the country. Leavitt and USF President Judy Genshaft were in the process of discontinuing the annual series because they felt playing UCF was below them.

But, now, alas, that USF smugness is gone — replaced by a false bravado before and after the game. During his post-game news conference, second-year USF coach Willie Taggart was asked if UCF has the type of program he wants to build at USF. Shockingly, Taggart's initial response was, "Hell, no!""http://touch.carrollcountytimes.com/#section/-1/article/p2p-82122265/

I think CWT let some emotion he's learned in the past year get the best of him. Last year and at WKU he shrugged off rivalry games saying every game is a rivalry game. Only a fool wouldn't want to be like a program at the top of the conference, with only 1 in conference loss in 2 seasons. It's like he's saying he'd rather be a bottom dweller which so far he's doing very well.

I take it differently. ucf's success has come against the bottom dwellers of our conference currently, and the bottom dweller's of what's left of conference USA now. The absolute garbage of college football. Is that what we are striving to be? We want to be the best player on the field because we are 21 years old playing against 16 year olds?

Taggart wants to build a program that can compete with anyone, beat anyone on any given night, and get out of this god forsaken conference.

Baylor wasn't a bottom dweller.

No they weren't, but outside of last year UCF's success is strictly against exactly what I said. A few years ago they won the CUSA championship, won like 10 games or something like that and didn't beat a single team with a winning record. That's not what I want to be sorry.

CUSA has a conference championship game so explain how they won that against a team with a losing record. Your facts seem to be askew. Leavitt, won the big games, lost in conference, never sniffed a BCS game, never ended the season ranked. UCF ended the season ranked, in CUSA.

And if UCF palyed in the same Big East that we played in they never would've sniffed a top 25 ranking let alone a conference championship.

My facts seem to be askew?

2010 UCF 11-3, Conference USA Champions

Who they beat and record that season.

  1. FCS South Dakota: Who Cares
  2. University of Buffalo: 2-10
  3. UAB: 4-8
  4. Marshall: 5-7
  5. Rice: 4-8
  6. East Carolina: 6-7
  7. Houston: 5-7
  8. Tulane: 4-8
  9. Memphis: 1-11
  10. SMU: 7-7
  11. Georgia: 6-7

Please tell me again what I said is wrong. They won 11 games and not one of those teams had a WINNING record when it was all said and done. Is that what USF wants to be right now in the next few seasons? Yes. Is that what Willie Taggart want to ultimately build this program into? Hell no. He wants to surpass that by a long shot.

Too many facts to warrant a reply by Slick

What an asshat. We were ranked #2 dumbass.gif

For 7 days. Because of 1 big win and no other undefeated BCS team. When was USF ranked end of seasons by either poll? That's when it counts, not 1/3 the way through the season. How many preseason 1 und up 1?

If you want to bash USF and defend UCF and their miserable beat writers go to their board.

Pretty much. He's really feeling it for UCF right now though so can't expect a response when someone says something negative about them on top of proving him wrong.

I'm not bashing, it's reality. You say UCF beat only teams with losing records, and post the schedule and it had 3 teams that were bowl eligible and one an SEC team they beat. You act like conferences don't have parity and you control the w/l record of your opponents. You beat who you play no matter their w/l record. Leavitt couldn't beat the parity Big East teams. CWT can only beat bottom dwellers, barely.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
