WHAT A TALENT!!!!!!!!!!

To take this seriously for a moment, why do you think he has a better upside than your hated Manziel? Pro football skills are probably there--although you never know for sure--but the head game seems, well, above his head. Do you think he'll suddenly mature, or just that his skills are enough that it won't matter?

He has made some dumb decisions, sure, but his football IQ is brilliant. That much is clear.

He has made some dumb decisions, sure, but his football IQ is brilliant. That much is clear.

I know you know that great college QB IQ does not always translate to the pros. And neither does athleticism. And off-the-field IQ does sometimes affect how well an NFL player succeeds. But what my point with smazza's post is why he thought Manziel was a sure NFL bust when he went pro, but that Winston will be a success. They're not dissimilar in terms of college success. Winston has the prototype size and arm of an NFL pocket passing QB. Manziel does not, and relies on his legs to open up the field for him.

We are seeing that Manziel's type is having very limited success in the NFL.

Winston has everything an NFL team is looking for, just those "indiscretions" will get in the way of him being a top 5 pick. Winston and Manziel are not comparable, IMO, and I have to agree with smazza 100% on this.

Ok then. I don't have a dog in the fight, and obviously he's a top 5-10 pick regardless, was just wondering about smazza's opinion. But glad to get yours too.
