A stadium is not far fetched... they just got Muma to cough up $25 million to slap his name on the side of a building that is already built.

They just need a donor to cough up the same amount or a bit more... lets say $30 million to start a fund, and then the USF Foundation office can issue bonds to the USF Athletics Dept. to borrow money with the understanding that it would be paid back + a fixed interest rate. SEC schools do this exact thing all the time to fund renovations and expansions of their stadiums. LSU for example just did the exact thing to fund the renovation of the East Stands of Tiger Stadium... got a bunch of bonds from their Foundation office.

Once construction begins Athletics can begin selling season tickets and playing around with donor levels to raise more money... heck they can begin booking concerts and other events as well to raise money, sell naming rights, etc.

Don't forget all that parking money... it adds up.

USF has over $621 million in its Foundation coffers right now, not counting that Muma contribution. So USF has right now enough money to fund a new stadium 10 times over.

Done deal... issue the bonds and call it a day.

You didn't use the </sarcasm> so not sure if serious with this post???

First, how many donors do you think there are willing to donate (not cough up) $30 million to USF?

The USF Foundation is not a bank.  They are in the business of raising funds, just like the Athletic Dept, but for the entire university.

We aren't a SEC school.

Athletics is already selling season tickets - not many at that.  Playing around with donor levels?  How dedicated to you think the fans are?

Not sure what the net assets are of the Foundation, but I think you may be getting that number from the amount raised from the Unstoppable campaign which funds much more than athletics.

Again, if you were being sarcastic I just missed it.

This is subjective. The more USF wins, the more donors USF will have. We feel that CWT has USF heading in right direction so donors will come

The USF Foundation is not a bank.  They are in the business of raising funds, just like the Athletic Dept, but for the entire university.

The must look out for their cash cow which is football. They must invest more into it to get more out of their cash cow

We aren't a SEC school.

The rumor is that USF may be a BIG 12 school, so they better start acting like it.

Athletics is already selling season tickets - not many at that.  Playing around with donor levels?  How dedicated to you think the fans are?

Again, this will get better when USF wins more. Also, the OCS anouncement followed by the BIG 12 news should energize the season ticket holders

No, we are being dead serious. It is time for us USF fans to start acting big time and be proud to be Bulls.  As Leavitt said, there is no ceiling to this program. GO BULLS!!

The 621 million was not raised to be spent. It was raised to be invested.

What will be spent is the interest/ dividends from the investments. The capital itself will not be touched.

WTF??

Crazy talk, lol.

Half of the schools that play in NFL stadiums are in a P5 conference. Hasn't hurt them.

Actually, 20% of FBS schools play at OFF campus stadiums including P5 programs like Oregon, UCLA, Washington, NC State, Baylor, etc..

Some are just here to shoot down hopes. May I suggest a few hours of Duck Hunt?

And some are just here to see USF spend money at the wrong time on the wrong thing.
