Personally though, I think having their name on it degrades the College of Business. Fiserv is one of the many management companies that helped facilitate the housing market crash (ask any appraiser if they like to work with a company such as Fiserv). They've degraded our profession as a whole and have Wal Mart'ed our services to a point where honest, thorough appraisers left the industry because our work was devalued. To me, Fiserv is a company full of educated, professional pimps. That is a bit harsh there Sheriff. I don't know the whole history of Fiserv but my understanding is that they are an information processing company and didn't make loans. Les is an IT guy, not a loan shark. My small bank here in Wesley Chapel, that has since gone under, used Fiserv for the Bill Payment portion of their website. Instead of trying to figure it all out for themselves, they farmed out that portion of it to them. These are really good people who give generously from the heart. And they encourage others to donate to USF.

It may be millions, it may be hundreds, but it all counts. Thank you, Les and Pam!

Appraisers that would stand up to the AMC's would get blackballed from doing work. If loans don't get completed, shareholders don't make money in the grand scheme of things. These AMC's fed off less competent appraisers, driving down fees in the industry while also driving down the valuation quality. Low and behold - the housing market falls out. But hey, if my industry is going to get screwed over, at least the dirty money is going to support the university I graduated from. I guess things are coming full circle. Needless to say, I'm happy that USF is getting a lot of money, I just wonder if Mr. Muma went back 30 years, if the ethics of his company model was different. Heck - not saying it's his personal fault - but I stand by my opinion of Fiserv as a company as would thousands of appraisers across the country. It has been well over 25 Million. They set the bar for other donors. Who can beat that and raise the bar even higher?

I have a long way to go though in building my mini-empire. The Muma's have a great empire for sure.
