It's a process, it doesn't happen in one game, but it does happen one game at a time. Good job ULM and Temple. There is nothing special about half the Pig 5 and we belong up there.

Hopefully we can tow our weight by knocking off Maryland and NC State, but after last season that is a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong shot.

Last season means nothing...Temple forces 10 turnovers last season total...they forced 7 last night...temple was 2-10 also

 

One reason I'm high on Temple is QB PJ Walker.  He's a young, poised QB, barely known outside AAC.  They really should have beaten UCF last year, but for the miracle comeback (UCF OD's on lucky charms last year, escaping at least 4 nears losses).

 

Temple looked good beating Vandy...on the road no less.

 

Every non-P5 win over a P-5 should be celebrated.

 

And I wonder:  if the P-5 wants to stay elite, does it start "upgrading" by dumping bottom dweller & replacing with the "best of the rest"?

 

That's the General Electric model:  each year, fire the bottom 10%, bring in new talent.  Rinse/repeat.

Diminish Vandy and WF if you want.  Fact is they got beat by the Sisters of the poor and Vandy on their own TV station. 

 

Jupiter, you are correct on Temple's QB.  He is very solid and their D will keep them in games.  I always pull for them as I get tired about PSU in my part of the world.

The problem as I see it is that the Pig 5 are talking about playing only other Pig 5 teams. There are PLENTY of them that suck so that the top teams still get their cupcake games.

Unless the Pig 5 man up and play the "best of the rest" their sos will be watered down across the board. Nothing would change the pecking order.
