USF would have fired him too.

We rescinded one job for false résumé information.

We fired one coach for slapping a player.

GoL lied on his résumé an killed a player. He wouldn't have lasted at USF. And all of those years he was there his program that he built lost to USF until we were in our worst point in program history due to Holtz.

Technically, O'Liar lying on his resume is the reason he got the UCF job.

Kind of shows what that program is willing to accept...

...Never mind that he got a raise after killing a player

You must be surprised that the Niners would hire a coach that head butts student-athletes too.  Maybe we should talk about the moral compass of certain newly hired BB assistant that was recently hired by USF, huh?

WOW...

Headbutting a player does not equal, or have any similarities or comparison to, killing one...

A player dying due to a medical condition is different that murder.  It's sometimes hard to see this through green and gold glasses.

NO.  NO.  NO.  and NO.

The player had a medical condition.  O'Leary KNEW the player had this condition.  Summer drills are the most dangerous time for a player with this condition, as was explained to O'Leary.  During said conditioning, if a player with this condition is having trouble they are to stop and be evaluated by the training staff and given oxygen if necessary.  Players with this condition can and do achieve high levels of athletic achievement, they need to build stamina more slowly at times.  "Pushing through" the way Bear Bryant used to do things could mean death.  The player can do just as much work, or more work, it has to be done smarter.  O'Leary knew he had at least one player with this condition, and he banned the trainers from the workout, against university rules and any reasonable set of standards by anyone in this century.  Then he saw this player exhibiting EXACTLY the symptoms that were described to him as warning signs.  EXACTLY the symptoms that should set off red flags.  And he cursed at the kid and told him to keep running until it became obvious to even O'Liar that the kid was in cardiac arrest.

This was not a kid dying from an unknown condition.  That happens even if everyone does everything right.

This was manslaughter, if not murder.

Thanks for enlighting us all!  It's great to finally hear from an actual eyewhitness like yourself.  I'm glad that I now know EXACTLY what happened.  Let's hope GOL keep pushing his players like BEAR BRYANT and winning MAJOR bowls and conferences.  We certainly don't wan't him to get all Holtzy soft.  #ChargeOn :04-rock:

It is all public knowledge to those that choose to educate themselves.  Everything I stated came out in the trial.

GOL killed that kid, that's why he and university were found liable.

This forum should have redeeming quality threads, its the conference subforum. But this swirled into a Trough level thread when it deviated away from a retirement discussion. The rumor appears to be false, case closed. Want to debate the Plancher case, open another tread in an appropriate subform. That's my opinion at least.

And you are definitely entitled to it ..... and there are some quality threads ... but if you think a board on the site that's going to have contributions from Kanigit fans isn't going to devolve into a smack off in a lot of threads, you're woefully naive.

Yeah, but they don't always instigate, they respond and then its on. Anyway, just my 2 cents.

Very few of their responses aren't meant to instigate and those few responses usually don't start anything .... and a reminder, this is a Bulls site, full of Bulls fans ....of all temperaments .... but still Bulls fans.
