For ****'s sake, when I'm on campus today or tomorrow I'll take a picture of them or similar ones the school already has and uses.

From the local ABC affiliate.  BTW, these things cost over $1,000!!

I kinda wonder how USF is getting away with this as rulemaking has not yet occurred to regulate drone use, thereby, making their use at this moment not clearly legal.

Not that I work for the FAA writing policy on certificating aircraft or anything.  :Shhhh:

'Cause they're not drones, they're RC helicopters with GoPros.

Please be sure to say it at least two more times ... People *might* start to get the picture then ...

Are they armed?

:)

If I could upload something bigger than 80k, I'd show you a picture of the drones the media department already owns.

Should be 500K, so you might be exaggerating.  I just lifted it to 1GB.  Try again and let me know.

I'm on a phone and the picture is too big. People will just have to accept that USF didn't buy a fleet of Predators.

I thought the only factor that makes drone or RC aircraft illigal is "commercial" use.

Basically I can fly a drone around for fun no probls but if I use it in a way to provide a service or rent it for use, etc... Doesn't it become "commercial"...?

Basically if you make money from it the government doesn't want you doing it.... Make money use is illigal, hobby use is okay.

Can anyone confirm? This is just hearsay.

This is also my understanding.

I wonder if the military is training USF students to program armed unmanned drones for remote warfare.

Why else would USF have a bunch of Predator drones on campus?

The FCC just laid out rules for hobbyists but Amazon said it doesn't effect them and their future plans for a drone fleet for same day deliveries.

Last I checked the scoreboard doesn't have a spot for current bank balance on it.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
