It is not a rotation, it is a bid for the tournament system. Usually coming down to money. THe only way you can make money is if either the host team makes it to the championship game, or the community will buy all session tickets (which never happens). Amway center will be empty (some games under 200 fans if on weekday, no big teams and no ucf playing). Right now, it would be hugely irresponsible for USF to bid for the MBB tourney. Only if someone else was paying the bid (like the county).

The one thing they've maybe got going for them over there, and here to a degree, is that the conference tourney is around the time a lot of school systems have their Spring Break. The possibility is there for fans who wouldn't ordinarily go to the tourney, making it a family outing ... not something a lot of the other cities would attract. Universities frown on students who don't challenge themselves. Now, is it better to get an A in a regular class over a D in honors or AP? Of course. You have a good point that USF has benefited from. Orlando is a great destination. Sort of the same reason I love road games in New Orleans and Las Vegas. And cold weather up north can motivate more fans to come. USF got more Big East northern basketball fans to Tampa simply because coming to Tampa was appealing. But, I really don't think that travel motivation will be enough to overcome the need for home town fans to buy lots of tickets. I am sure the UCF bid is expecting lots of USF buyers too. These type of things aren't really worth it
