AAC Mens Hoops by the Numbers.

We all have to go with the facts that the AAC was if not the best mens hoops confernce this season. SMU must be going crazy as they beat UConn twice this season. It was USF beating SMU that kept them out of the Big Dance. Here are some facts that point to the AAC being the top confence this season. 

 

 

-  The American went 13-4 in the postseason men's play this season. The .765 winning % ranked 1st among all Division 1 conferences.

 

- The tally on year 1 : NCAA Champion; NIT Finalist; 3 AP All-America picks; 105-39 non conference record.

 

 

As, I said in the beginning, USF is playing in a very tough conference. We must improve by leaps and bounds if we want to compete next season.

But isn't that what the new FB 4 team playoff is all about?  How would you rather decide a national champion?  On the field (or court for BB) or let a panel of so-called experts decide it?  Screw playing the games, lets just make sports a popularity contest.  By those terms, ND, the SEC team du jour, or one of the military service academies would be the national champion every year.

And Kentucky wasn't hot? They were running high off a big run and having beat  #1 and #2 seeds. You're insane if you think we didn't have great teams in this tournament. We did. And at the end of the day, it's one of the much maligned LEFTOVERS that won the national championship. Not the team leaping out the door in Louisville.

I agree 100% but does that mean we don't support a conference mate once we are done? This crap Smaza is espousing is ridiculous relative to the other posts that he has made. But yes you are correct, my concern is first and foremost USF but once our season is done I would hope the conference can do well...$$
