First pitch is scheduled for 6;30 p.m. The Bulls have started off American Athletic Conference play by winning both series taking two-of-three games from UConn and Cincinnati. For the third straight week, USF is receiving votes in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll. USF enters the series with a 17-10 record this season.SCOUTING STETSON The Hatters banged out a season-high 18 hits in Sunday’s 18-9 win over the Eagles in game one, scoring their most runs since the 2012 season opener in the process. But Stetson couldn’t hold onto the momentum in game two and eventually lost, 4-3, in nine innings. Patrick Mazeika enjoyed a remarkable weekend, going 11-for-13 at the plate, including 8-for-9 in the doubleheader. Stetson currently sits at 10-18 on the year and 2-4 on Atlantic Sun play. QUICK HITTERS • USF and Stetson will square off in a two-game mid-week series on Tuesday and Wednesday with Stetson leading the all-time series 80-78 • Last season, USF won both games with the Hatters outscoring them 18-10 • For the third consecutive week, USF is receiving votes in the NCBWA Top 25 Poll...one of four schools from the American Athletic Conference mentioned in the poll • USF began American Athletic Conference play by winning both series taking two-of-three games from UConn and Cincinnati • Jimmy Herget was named to The American Weekly Honor Roll on March 31 for the second straight week. He held Cincinnati to four hits over inning while tossing 8.1 innings of two-hit ball vs. UConn • Herget currently ranks second in the conference with a 0.96 ERA and third in innings pitch with 46.2 • Jordan Strittmatter is tied for the second most appearances with 15 • Levi Borders has thrown out 11 would-be base stealers, second most in the conference • USF has allowed just two home runs this year, the fewest in the conference • USF is just one of four schools in The American to have one of its pitchers throw a complete game • USF is the only school in the conference not to have committed a balk • USF has rose to the occassion in close games going 6-2 in 2014 in one-run ballgames • USF has eight triples this year, tied for second most in the conference NEXT UP USF will return to USF Baseball Stadium after a five-game road swing on Friday, April 4 when it welcomes rival UCF for a three game American Athletic Conference series.
