Not surprised at all.

He probably will never go pro in the NBA, so he should get the best possible education he can.

I expect that decision would hinge on whether he wants to be a coach too, or go into some other field. He seems like a smart kid, so I'm sure he'll make a good pick and do well.

The real question is, does Josh pick a school before his old man gets a new job?

Heath was interviewing in NY for a tv gig recently. I'm not sure if that's an indication of whether the lower level coaching gigs are calling for Heath, or if he'd rather just wait it out in a cush tv job while something interesting comes available.

@TBTimes_Bulls: Former @USFMBB PG Josh Heath has committed to #GeorgiaTech, says his high school coach, Joe Fenlon

Sounds like a solid move for him....wish him all the best.

Well it kinda was an easy decision since Coach Brian Gregory knew Josh since he was a small child. Gregory and Heath were both on Tom Izzo's staff at MSU. While Stan Heath went on to ride Kent St to the Arkansas job, Gregory went to Dayton where he had good success until he was hired at G-Tech. In 8 seasons at Dayton, Gregory(btw great name), compiled a 172-94 record with 2 NCAAT and 3 NIT appearances.

Now Josh might not get to enjoy his reunion with Coach Gregory for long if the next season is similar to all the previous ones. He has yet to enjoy a winning season in his 3 years on the job and is very much on the Hot Seat watch going into the 4th season. If Coach Gregory is fired, and the future looks a little grim to say the least, then Josh will have to either stick it out at G-Tech for the next HC or transfer again, which is rare to see in college basketball.
