Guest PCBull14
Okay, I watched most of the game. I do like his style and he is better than Stan could have ever done at Florida State and against Hamilton. He took a bunch of C-USA kids and went up against ACC kids. He's a good coach and it would be an upgrade from Stan on the floor. Here's my thing. He's so young. I just don't know if he can shoulder a program with so much of our history (of losing!). He's got to offset all of that history and rebuild the program into a winning program. That's going to take a big personality. I don't if he has "it". 1.5 million for Stan and then 500K for his buyout. That's a cool 2 mil just to get him in the door. I think we need to go bigger -as in a bigger name. I see your points, but I think what this program needs is someone young and talented it can grow with like our football program. Its the only direction we haven't tried yet. Lets go get some cat under 40 who wants a long vacation in florida.

Apparently he's not a fan of this style of play. Maybe raises a bigger issue of whether some of the kids on the team will be effective in this type of system. If Micheal White hires good assistants, that might make a difference. I'd go for that. CWT has a lot of very good assistants.

Players (and their parents) need to keep their mouths shut about potential coaches. What they say CAN be used against them. SMH

SMU plays a slower, halfcourt game, only suitable for SMU fans. If we want to get non-diehard fans, we need to go uptempo. NO MORE PAINT DRYERS, PLEASE!!!! NO MORE PAINT DRYERS, PLEASE!!!! chardibb, the thing about Michael White that a lot of folks don't know including Collins' dad, is that White coaches to the talent he has. In other words that insane press he uses with La Tech we might not see at USF at first if he becomes our Head Coach. White has a big time basketball IQ and is just a tremendous head coach. There is an article I will post soon that states that White uses that press because of the low talent level he had at La Tech when he got there and the kind of talent he can recruit to come there. Remember La Tech was just a sorry basketball program and had been for more then 20+ years. White is such a competitor and hates to lose that he figured that pressing like that was the only way La Tech could win. He stated that it was a gamble he had to take because there was no way they could win other wise. It was either going to work or he would fail there. He was surprised at how bad the talent level was at La Tech when he took the job. There are only two coaches known for pressing that I have seen with my own eyes who can coach in the halfcourt just as well in the fullcourt. That's Nolan Richardson and Rick Pitino. Great coaches can adapt, create, and teach different ways to win. Young White is showing that he has the potential to someday become a great coach. Hopefully he does that at USF. If we were going to pay Masiello +/- $1.25M per year, why wouldn't we be able to offer this guy $1.1M/year and make that buyout pretty easily.
