What a circus! First, Judy arranges for a Search Firm to be retained 2 days BEFORE firing Stan Heath....very unprofessional way to do things Judy! Especially from someone who is always preaching the ethical way to do things. Then, Mark Harlan (all about the fan experience LOL) interviews AND AGREES TO HIRE Steve Masiello only for this to back fire due to a Background Check. The Search Firm should have fully completed the background check prior to recommending Masiello. Now, once again, we will be stuck with some loser 2nd tier choice due to the incompetence of both Judy and Harlan. Great job you two clowns!

Who knows if the search firm told USF they did their homework and Masiello was good to go? Who knows if USF did this so fast in order to lock him up, but did it contingent on the background check, which didn't turn out so well? I'm giving USF the benefit of the doubt in this situation until the facts prove otherwise. USF is paying a search firm to take care of stuff like this. The Search Firm should not have had Steve Masiello sign a USF contract (or even have one drawn up) prior to the ENTIRE background check being completed, no matter how long this took. This oversight and sloppiness has once again caused USF to look like a circus and has created a dumpster fire!

If it's the latter wherein he was offered the position contingent on a background check, I don't have a problem with it. Keeps him from looking elsewhere and gives the university time to cross their i's and dot their t's. I do have a problem with information being leaked to the media prematurely, though.

USF didn't announce it! Coaching searches usually move fast. Why do you think we hired the search firm? To sit and look pretty? They were to handle the background check and the screenings. This isn't on USF, it's on Eastman & Beaudine, on Masiello, and on every person who glossed over his lies.
