Or did we do another "one of those" contracts? With so many smaller schools looking coaches, I'm hoping he lands a job.

"Heath said he will be paid $1.5 million for the final four years of his contract." http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/10607942/stan-heath-confirms-firing-south-florida-coaching-job

"In the last three years, USF has been obligated to pay three men nearly $7-million to NOT coach. Former football coach Skip Holtz, whose contract was extended by Woolard in July 2012, was fired some five months later after a 3-9 season. His buyout was $2.5-million. Heath’s buyout was $1.5-million." http://tbo.com/sports/colleges/usf-bulls/sources-usf-fires-basketball-coach-stan-heath-20140314/

Of course we do. We fired him. It's not much different than most separation clauses in most management contracts, except for possibly the amount. If you find another job we will guarantee you that amount per year. So if you are guaranteed 500k and you find a job paying 300k, we pay you the difference. USF says we will pay you 500k no matter what.
