**** Alabama schools, always hiring "scumbags" that are winners.  I'm so glad USF never even considers hiring these types of guys, i.e. winners.  We're as pure as the wind driven snow.

Congrats to Auburn for stepping out aggressively and getting BY FAR the best coach that will be available. Now those who wait like USF is now in the hire and hope mode. The sure thing is gone.

No doubt Pearl can do and would do that. Pearl would have USF ranked in the top 25 his 1st season. He's that **** good of a head coach and an incredible salesman

Petrino was available and we didn't make a play for him. Why would we make a play for Pearl? Goes against the track record demonstrated by USF's upper brass. I wish we had the mentality of UCF - they hire liars without thinking twice and have reaped the rewards from their risk.

We may have offered and he may have had little interest in the job. Maybe he was looking to get back into SEC basketball? Maybe we couldn't afford him? Nobody knows.

If he is gone, I'd say Ben Howland and Buzz Williams are our front runners.

A school can win without hiring, "scumbags" (not my word).  Some of you seem to revel in the, "win at whatever cost" mentality.  Where we are as a sports department, we can't afford to have any kind of NCAA sanctions levied against us.  It could put us in a position that we may never recover.

 

There are winning candidates out there that don't have this kind of baggage.
