USF should hire Al Skinner???

He's not a bad coach, but he's not an elite coach. The guy was in the ACC and never really made it very far. That's the same type of situation he'd be walking into here with elite bball schools like Memphis and a lot of quality schools as well. Pass.

All this names just mentioned above are not impressing me. They are all just regular coaches which is probably the kind of coach we will get because we can't afford anything else. I don't really see what's so impressive about winning the conference usa tournament. The only thing that Danny manning has going for him is that he was a good college player and has played in the NBA. Unless he makes it to the sweet sixteen I don't think he will be highly sought after for just winning the conference usa tournament.

You have to get a bigger name. Howland would be best as it appears that Pearl is heading to Auburn.

I think this cuts both ways. 

Can't think of too many young 'celebrity' up-n-coming coaches that would necessarily want to come here against the package that would be offered.

This is one of those champagne on a beer budget type decisions. Just buy the best beer you can.

Major conference?  Maybe this season due to numbers, not next season.

 

We aren't talking about football.  In the landscape of DI basketball there are a lot more conferences and the AAC is far above most, even with Louisville moving on.
