Taggart is not working on a hot seat, nor should he be in year two.  Nor would we want an environment where motivation was driven by threat of loss of job.  A true leader has ways to inspire his coaches to success.  Secondarily, it's comforting to know if that does not work there is a Plan B to keep the program moving.  We need to change the culture in the Athletic Department and as fans.

CWT got a vote of confidence from Judy the other day about the promising future of the football program. He should be safe for now. But if we have another terrible season like last year, then all bets are off.  I believe we will get 6 wins somehow and get to a bowl game. Maybe the St Pete Bowl. And that will be great improvement. Heck, winning 5 games next season will be good improvement. If we win only 2 games then it becomes questionalble especially with a new AD.

? If winning isn't important.  If maintaining and expanding donors is not important.  Then why did CSH just get cut loose?  By all rights, he should still be here with the logic above.  Truly, I thought he would be and thought he deserved at least the next year because he'd lost his shooting guard and then had to play so many freshman but the level of program abandonment by donors is substantial.  One might conclude that Stan Heath was the sacrificial lamb but I'm sure that the Administration needed to show some serious resolve at changing things around.  Does that mean CWT gets less scrutiny in the coming year due to the sacrifice made by Heath at the win-or-leave altar?  I don't think so and I certainly don't think Harlan is going to motivate through threat of job loss.  The threat of job loss is always there when you rely upon fans to donate and you aren't performing at least at a middling level.  I truly hope CWT gets the FB program turned around and I know he'll have an easier time of it with Harlan at the helm rather than Woolard, but he has to IMPROVE substantially over last year or he is in serious trouble going forward.  That's just the reality of NCAA revenue sports now and its especially magnified at USF because of the donor abandonment.  Reality isn't always fun but it is always right.

Taggart shouldn'T be on a hot seat after this year. He was hired into the position to turn the program around.

Of course winning is the most important thing, but when statements are made that a guy should be fired after his second year of a total rebuilding of the program it just shows a complete lack of understanding of the rebuilding process.

By that logic, you would expect the new coach to either be a big time winner after his second year and you would have different systems every year. How screwed up would the players be? Who would come here to coach if he only had 2 years to build things his way?

Technically, he wouldn't be fired. USF would just contract with a different coach once Prado's contract expires at the end of the season.

CWT is a man with passion and fire. Right now, if he can't get it done, then we are in worse shape then originally thought...

Everyone say thanks Skip

CWT needs to quickly translate his passion and fire into wins and bowl invites.  Piss on Kragholtz!

Prado's seat should have been warmer than Heath's anyways. Coach Heath at least had 2 ncaa tournament wins to point to just 2 years ago. We've finished in second place in our conference once under Prado.

Agree 100%.

I would have to think that another year of non NCAA Tournament participation and he will be gone. No excuses now that we've been in that Stadium for 3 seasons.

We always pretended it was facilities related failure. :wink

Now we know it is not necessarily.

We just aren't/weren't the winning types.

It's a new chapter.
